Two hands I'm still scratching my head with, and how I can better approach live poker thinking
Starting stacks both about 17k with blinds 150/300
Two tables around 7 players each
Everyone folds to very old guy in SB (Loose passive) who limps. I've played with him before and I think his post game is definitely very weak. In this game people don't raise preflop in the game only with very very strong hands.
I'm BB with QQ
Last hand before break
I raise to 750.
He calls, flop is Q52 rainbow,
I see him slowly reaching for a min bet and I said "please don't min bet"
old guy min bets 300
Hero????
I elect to call thinking that there was many hands he could have that would continue if I decided to raise. So I decide to call his bet and min bet and let him catch up.
Turn comes a 4, and old guy min bets again
Hero??
I reraised roughly pot (5200) and he goes all in, and flips over A3
2nd Hand blinds are 400/800, Vs older middle aged (tightish aggresive recreational reg Villian in CO roughly 18k and I decide to rebuy after that last hand 14.5k
A9 in HJ being 6 players left on the table, I elect to raise to 1600
Villian calls in CO
flop comes out A94 rainbow
I elect to check and he checks back
My thinking for this hand was that he would turn any of his hands that missed into a bluff + any hands that hit and decide to raise flop considering both of us both being very short.
turn is a 2 and I check in which he bets 2k and I decide to go all in with about 11k behind. and he flips over 2's and said "why didnt you bet the flop"?
Maybe I should have, where did I go wrong in both of these hands
