Background:

€20 qualifier for a €105 ticket - turbo live MTT
5 tickets available

I got to the final table (9 players) with a reasonable chip stack, the average stack was around 100k (10BB) and I had around 180k (18BB). The chip leader had around 250k (25BB).

4 players had pretty small stacks of < 50k.

We played for about 30 minutes or so and finally 6 players remained.

My stack had completely shifted. I was now the 2nd smallest stack at the table. I lost an all-in against the player on my left who was still the smallest stack at the table, but only by a diffence of about 1BB.

There were 2 big stacks at the table and 2 average stacks.
The big stacks were only playing monsters and didn't seem to want to challenge anyone.
They kept taking the blinds with huge hands (AJ+) but never tried to take them with smaller hands. (They showed every time.)
One of the average stacks was playing a pretty tight range, but did seem to want to challenge the other players.
The other average stack wasn't playing at all.

The small stack on my left was playing extremely tight.

I had been playing pretty aggressive when I had a bigger stack, but switched to a very conservative style once I lost half my stack to the guy on my left.

My plan was to just wait until one of the other players challenged the slightly smaller stack on my left and knocked him out.

It went pretty well for a few rounds, but then I started running into trouble.

On my big blind the big stacks kept gettings hands and kept taking my big blind.

On villain's (short stack left of me) big blind, no one seemed to want any action for several rounds.

I had stolen his big blind with a few marginal hands a few times since he was extremely tight.

Problem:

Finally we got up to a point where I had slightly less chips than the player on my left and thus became the shortest stack myself.
There was still no one showing any intention of playing back against the player on my left.

I was on the small blind and got dealt J7o.
I had about 7BB left, villain had about 8BB.
The table folded to me.

What's my play?

How do I get my ticket on this table?

Spoiler:
I asked for a count with the intent of shoving if I had more chips than villain and folding if I had less.
I had slightly less, but since no one was showing any aggression towards the guy I decided to shove anyway (with a big sigh).
He thought for a few seconds and called, showing A7o.
He won the pot and knocked me out.
After the tournament he came to me and told me he would have folded if I wouldn't have sighted like that, figuring my hand was probably weak because of that.

could rip it blind v blind but no need for theatrics. You're gonna have a lot of FE against this guy.

it's not a great hand though

My main problem and reason for shoving here is that if I don't, I end up 2BB behind him and become by far the shortest stack on the table ...

He would probably just sit out until I busted or found another way to collect some new chips.

other players could make mistakes. when they do you will win. you can survive with 7BB few more rounds, anything can happen.

Anytime you "sigh" while playing poker, you should probably just fold. That's like the golden rule in any kind of card game... never show emotion towards your hand!

I actually don't mind the shove here (minus the sigh), You're going to pick up the pot a lot.

Yeah the "sigh" is a big tell, which I wasn't aware of, but I am now, so at least I learned something extremely useful!
