8 handed
6 until itm

250/500/50

HERO LJ (23 bb's) Ac Kh
Villain BB (40 bb's)

HERO opens for 2x in LJ
BB calls

FLOP 2,650 9h 4h 2h
HERO bets 1,460
Villain raises to 4,000
HERO?

After my c-bet I have 18 bb's. Are we going with our hand here or just folding? After looking at the hand I think a check back is the best play, especially if were going to bet/fold w k hi flush draw.
What do you think?

As played, shove. Check is ok, but villain will bet any turn card that favors his range. So be ready for that if you check. I like it as played.

You shouldn't find yourself stuck in the middle in a spot like this. When the flop falls you either decide you're getting it in and bet, or you opt for the free card and check behind.

I don't want to get stuck facing a bet on a whiffed turn so I would prefer a bet and gii on the flop.

As played get it in. You're only crushed vs sets and you have pair outs against most other stuff. Also bb will be trying to steal a lot here as you are short and on bubble, knowing you can't be continuing without good hands.

KAo with under 25 bbs is a jam from any position.

Wow. This is a drastic oversimplification. But, if you are outclassed by most of the players at your table, by all means gii. Be sure to turn on your "I want to flip" neon sign as well.

eh under 25 bbs i just use snapshove pro, it's honestly works beautifully. I ignore it in certain spots of ICM reasons, but for the most part its dead useful and makes a huge difference on bubbles and ITM. It works very well for me. IDK heroes table, their stacks, their types or anything about the hand, so it comes down to jam pf because you're too close to the money and you need to protect your hand from going to the flop. so now that hero went to the flop, theres no way his hand is still good and we are now drawing with 50 percent equity at best and 20 percent at worst.
like i said i'd probs jam pre though that's relative to table player types and stack sizes, wouldn't lead out on the flop, but not much you can do with this hand. i hate playing AK street for street personally, and a lot of the time when you miss the flop you're losing equity vs pocket pairs considering we usually don't go to the river when we miss AK. SO, once again all my own personal opinion, AK is strongest when it's all in pf, especially itm and at the bubble.
