I think that shoving with 20 BB is dumb, reason being that you still have so many hands to see. I look to start shoving around 10 BB.

Depending on your position at the table, player types, stack sizes and bubble factors it might be correct to push 20 BB stacks. Against light 3 bettors that might feel the need to defend out of the blinds, it would suck to raise/fold a good hand. If you were going to raise/call push I think it would be better to open push and take away the villians 3-bet options with hands that would rather take the pot down pre. However against thinking villians you would have to mix up your play.

hmm u should maybe search for"unexploitble play" before saying pushing 20bbs is dumb. Poker is so much more then u prolly think regarding ur statement...

All in all my replay was a littlegeneric pushing 20bbs is only good if antes already kicked in and ur holding doesnt want to get 3bet but is too good to fold and some more factors sry I am tired...

Around 10BB and below. 20BB is way too big to push preflop. But again if you VS 2 loose blinds with short stacks (around 5-10 BB) and every one folded to you or you have couple of HBLs(High blind limpers)in early position But if you in D,CO or HJ position and have AT and up or 77 to QQ then push would be ok to steal blinds from them and even if you get called you would be in a good shape.
P.S.I would recommend you to read SNG strategy by Moshman and also to play around with SNG WIZ software.

About 15BBs or so.

And I disagree with those saying shoving 20BB is unreasonable.

depends on the people behind me, but generally i base it on pot size not number of big blinds
