Live MTT, $570 buy-in, 250K GTD, 100/200 no ante

Action folds to the button, button limps, I wake up with AhJh in SB, raise to 1,000, BB folds, and button calls. Stacks are roughly at 20k. Not too much read on players as of yet.

Flop AdQs10c . I bet 1,200, button calls, turn is 10h. I am thinking button has a gutshot with J-rag. I bet 2,500, and button raises me to 4,000. I call with my gutshot and top pair. River comes Jc. So I bet 6,000 and button shoves. After tanking a little I folded , button mucks, and he says he had j-10.
Was it a good fold?

I think it was a good fold. The opponent here told a very consistent story, the board is extremely dangerous for AJ and your two pair is a bluff catcher at best.

This hand is really poorly played OP. The flop bet is ok with smaller sizing but I think a check is better. Definitely check turn, as played you are inflating the pot when there's really not much worse that's going to call again that you beat. I'm not really sure what happened on turn since the numbers must be off, but if you got raised you should have folded. River bet is bad - I'm guessing you are value betting the river but there's nothing worse that's calling on a AQTTJ board.

preflop and flop are fine. c/c the turn (depending on sizing) and make a decision on the river. Prolly c/fold on most rivers that don't improve you to broadway or aces full if he bets a reasonable amount. Definitely check the river once he raises you on the turn... Why are you betting?

Checking flop probably a bit better than betting? Don't think it's too important.

Agree though that turn is no good and river is quite a serious spew. Line makes no sense, don't know why you would bet.

Also ranging him as jack-rag on the turn? Sorry bro you need to think deeper about this hand.
