I busted out of a recent small-stakes tourney with the following hand:

Blinds/Antes: 125, 250, 20

Chips: 16511 (comfortable)

Hero: Ad Td

EP raises 337 to 587, I (MP) call making the pot 1720, Villain (CO) raises 2510. Everyone folds, I call. Villain is a fairly tight player, though quite aggressive pre-flop too. The pot is now 6162.

Flop: 4h Kc Ah

I bet about just shy of 70% of the pot (4250). I am aware of the flush draw. I have my opponent on a range including KK but I am also considering QK, QT, JT, or medium and upward pairs.

Turn: 6d

I push all-in with my stack and I am called. My opponent has the KK after all.

River: 8d (irrelevant by this point, obviously).

I wonder that I overplayed this hand and didn't have the right to be the aggressor here. Looking back, I'm not sure I actually needed to play anywhere near as forcefully as I did, nor did I have position.

Any thoughts?

Fold to his 3-bet. No need to get fancy with thrash when your opponent is tight.
Just say your opponent had AK,AQ,AJ you are dominated and all of this hands could be in villains 3-bet range as well.

All fair comments. What had clouded my judgment somewhat was the fact that I'd seen a 3-bet in a previous hand when he showed A7s...

I keep seeing this, you should add this to your analysis so we can acknowledge when reading and trying to give advice.

How long ago was that hand? If it was very recent he knows it's fresh in your mind, so he's less likely to be 3-betting light here. And if he knows what he's doing his range should be polarized anyway so he won't be 3-betting hands like KQ/KJ/QJ.

Guys, please, post as many info, thoughts as you can remember in your initial post. It's not working otherwise.

About hand:

Don't think he's gonna 3-bet light this time. Despite the note, ATs hardly hit our calling range. AJs, AQo closer (if we want Bluff Catching him on similar board structure);

Then again OTF, def not donking, check/calling in this spot most of our range here w/o position. Even when you stick with A7 read, then try to trap him, don't isolate yourself against his top range;
