Raising the turn was a mistake (I think) but was calling the river? Seemed very bluffy at the time but I showed huge strength and he knew that. I answered my own question haha. I am a donk and I shouldn't have raised the turn or called river. Haaawww-HEEEE Haw-Heeeee.

I would still like input though.

Even if you play it differently the money is probably going in at some point anyway. But when you x/r the turn like that you make it obvious you have an Ace so he can play perfectly against you.

On the flop SPR is about 6.5 - so I think we're strong enough against most Vs to gii with good trips here - given that V is more likely to have raised stronger Ax preflop and his calling range will have a lot of weaker Ax. If V is tight we might want to take a different line and pot-control.

I sometimes play this with a bet flop x/r turn line as I want to be able to c bet a lot and have some strong hands to check the turn with to punish floating.

The line you took was interesting - I don't think it's great for maximising value as the tiny x/r on the turn looks insanely strong - so if we think V is intelligent enough to see this then maybe we can fold the river as what worse is raising here?

Thats what I was thinking my man. I didnt think hard enough on the river.

After thinking a lot about the hand I think that the min check raise was actually a good move. It showed that I was strong and his call proved beyond much doubt that he had a bigger Ace pre. The river was where I should have got away from it.
