Didn't 3bet pre because we're very deep with the opener and didn't want to get 70+bbs in pre with JJ.

BB is a spastic fish. How the fk do we interpret this ridiculous overjam? 4 or small-mid pair going for protection? Flush draw? Or "I have trips, I'M ALL IN!"

Think I still prefer the 3b with JJ here, we're smashing a CO open range and don't fancy going 3 way OOP here with a strong hand.

As played just fold and note it for future reference. You still have 70bb so it doesn't matter.

I'd say you're looking at AhQh or some other Ax of hearts more often than Kx/44. You may be ahead, but it won't be too far so folding wouldn't be the worst option imo.

    Good responses, thanks.

Regarding 3betting pre, lets say we make it ~1600 and he 4bets to ~4200 or so, then what? Do we just assume players at these stakes don't have a 4bet bluffing range and fold or what?

Well... Did CO fold? I would click call vs a spaz and fold otherwise.
Preflop is ok-ish. 3b is better. But with a spaz to act after you I dont mind the flatcall to induce him to 3b.

Then you need to make the decision based on the vil, do you think he has a 4b/f range or is he only 4betting his strong hands only such as QQ+ and AK. If its the latter then we can just fold and be on our merry way.

I think 3-betting JJ pre is standard here. We're playing this pot OOP and really don't want to price the BB into a call. I think my general rule would be to flat in position and 3-bet OOP in spots like this.

As played it's an easy fold. Best case we probably have about 25-30% equity and that isn't good enough to call. Based on expected hand ranges our opponent should actually have way more Kx/44 combos in his CO open range (probably 30+) than heart draws (maybe 15-20). Even if we think he's bluffing some percentage of the time it isn't enough to justify calling.

definitely would like to see a 3bet preflop here.

With the way the hand played out I'm folding and waiting for a better spot

Thanks for the responses, I will 3bet in these spots in the future. I think I was applying too much of a high stakes mindset to it, worrying about getting 4bet and puking at the spot.
