Why don't cbet flop? You are OOP take call from worst like 66-77-99 and take out some hands with overcards you can't don't cbet here any A,K,Q or J ott kills the action and villain can outplay you in position..As played Fold imo

I don't get the 3b at all - is it 3b/f or 3b /c if UTG shoves - both look bad - I think its best to flat pre.

As played it depends on read on BTN and what he is flatting a 3bet with this shallow - some players will only have KK+ here

The button cold called a 3! I find this very suspicious with the original raiser still to act. I'm thinking QQ+ and maybe AK (leaning toward the big pp) is their range. Given your pre flop action, I think bet flop and see what opponent does.

As played, after you check the flop and turn, fold to button bet and move on to next hand.

The guy I 3bet was very active so I wanted to defend a bit vs him opening 45% of his hands. The guy who called my 3bet was quite nitty so I didn't include 44>88 in his range.

But thanks for the comments, it helps me understand the hand better. I guess correct play was just flat pre and continue from there.

Btw I fold to his river bet and eventually finished 4th.

Betting flop and turn. And I am folding for ICM reasons, I could justify a hero call on this river at another point in a tournament. I feel like when he bets turn he has a lot of draws and a lot of ace high that is trying to get you to fold.

Why is is it better to just flat the UTG raise? I think 10s are a good holding to 3bet in mid position. But i Might be wrong.

Because we're a middle sized stack with 2 shorties left so if we 3bet and get 4b we're ina terrible situation so we have to 3b/f with a strong hand. If the vils know this they can print money against us by just 4bet us super wide.
