Deep in Big 16.50

Apologies can't get the hand history converter to work today for some reason. No real reads was FTbling another tourney at the time so wasn't paying attention to this tourney much. From memory villian was opening a lot and playing typical big stack poker. I misclicked the 3 bet was meant to make it about 15,500. Bout 35 left I think.

Re: Deep in Big 16.50

Im really looking for info as to whether a shove might be the better play here or whether I shud fold, or whether call is the right option. remembering this is deep vs a good thinking player.

Don't shove. Probably leaning more towards a fold.

Re: Deep in Big 16.50

Can't see why you would want to 3 bet fold a 20bb stack with AQ.

1) You've already said villain is playing typical big stack bully poker, this is perfect for your stack size and is possibly why his 4bet is so small that he retains fold equity.

2) Pay jumps in this instance from 35 - 15 aren't going to be huge, so it's a good time to try and run up a stack to final table with.

3) Point 2 is strengthen by the fact your final tabling another tourney already; if you get it in and lose you can concentrate on the FT.

Re: Deep in Big 16.50

works fine for me

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $15 Buy-in (1,800/3,600 blinds, 450 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 7 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #13577832

BTN: 102,398 (28.4 bb)
SB: 101,369 (28.2 bb)
BB: 108,076 (30 bb)
MP1: 204,576 (56.8 bb)
Hero (MP2): 81,539 (22.6 bb)
MP3: 89,418 (24.8 bb)
CO: 106,236 (29.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A Q
MP1 raises to 7,200, Hero raises to 12,800, 5 folds, MP1 raises to 20,604

would prolly just jam pre with 22ish BBs, as played lol at him and fold
if you thought you could 3b 15kish to induce light 4bets cause he just clicks buttons you should obv not fold now. but we cant read that from your OP.
the default play is just jamming pre.

3b/decide >>3b jam >>flat

I'd generally 3b/call vs OR and fold vs cold 4's.

3betting to around 17k should be good.
