Pre flop I reraised big to get all in with the short stack and get a fold from the small blind since were both so deep when he calls i put him on a hand like TT+ and AJs+ on the flop i try to take it down with a cbet and if he shoves im happy to call since there is a flush draw which might be his range and my might shove it with two over to add to that draw when he calls i put him on a flush draw or and over pair (or some random 8 but i really dought he could have that after my big 3bet pre flop) when the turn pairs the 8 i decide to check behind since that might be the card he had and when i river comes a jack not completing the flush draw he instantly shoves without even thinking about it and so i put him on a missed flush draw or something like AcJc or some random Jx or QQ but the problem is that we were both so deep and i dont know if i shoudve just folded and been safe with just an over pair in this spot.

I ended up making the call but I'm not sure if I shoudve called at that spot for that many big blinds. Would like to get an insight from high lever players

I really really hated to call there but I just coudn't find a fold. And it still bugs me because I think I shoudve just folded and protect my 70BB remaining stack. What do you think?

Just get it in on the turn. As played call river. As you say, his range consists mainly of pairs, it would be a shame if a scarecard hits the river.

Yeah gii on the turn. Hard to see him with too many 8's in his range.

As played you def still have to call his shove otr. Lots of missed draws and other value hands that you're ahead of in his range.

Pretty bad logic to ever want anyone to ever fold at any time with KK pre in a tournament.

Pretty sick spot, you bet way too much preflop. I mean people at low levels of anything try to justify why they make marginal decisions, we need to break our mindsets that are like that.

i did not want to fold with KK pre flop i was thinking about it on the river only

call the river. if he has JJ then so be it. other than that there is not much in his range that beats u.

That's not what I said though. I said you don't want people to fold pre when you have KK.

I would push turn think checking back is a big mistake he can't have an 8 or it's very unlikely anyway get it in on river b4 scare card comes , an I would call river

What do you think he's betting the river with? Not that I disagree but I think thinking out a villain's range helps in these spots.
