flatting vs the 3b is better when you raise from this position. it just sucks to get it in for 150BBs preflop.
as played you should have check raised and just get more money in when he is likely to invest alot of chips with draws and Ax. raise to like 700 and jam most turns.
sorry he had AA.

Flat the 3bet pre
lead flop. We were preflop aggressor.

Why are we flatting the 3b pre here?

Re: The Big 5.50 JJ early stages. How did I play this?
I think 4-betting pre with JJ and this deep stacked is pretty bad and I would rather just flat it here and see a flop. As furo says, it's a pretty sticky situation if you are being put all-in here for 150 BBs.
On the flop I would either bet 1/2-3/4 pot or check-raise, I don't know why you chose check-call? On the turn I would bet bigger, again around 1/2-3/4 pot and be looking to get it in.
Of course it looks a little weird that he min-3bets you pre and min-raise you on the turn, but I'm personally never getting away from mid-set and I think at this level you will often enough be looking into AK, AQ, Ax, KK, QQ, and sometimes AJ, 99, a straightdraw, a flushdraw or a combined straight-/flushdraw.

Check call here probably seems a bit weird I know, I wanted him to bet out with his premium ace. The check was mainly so he felt like he was in front.

Re: The Big 5.50 JJ early stages. How did I play this?
IMO you played it pretty badly:
PRE: I flat the 120,
OTF: lead out for about 2/3 pot. As played I raise to 590, not flat. These small bets on the flop at low stakes mean they are on a draw 4/5 times.
OTT: I lead out for around 1/2 pot. As played I would c/r to around 2.75x his raise.
OTR: Open shove.

gotta lead out on that juicy flop after being the 4better pre. His range def hit that board and he'll play back at you.

You flat the 3b because why are you trying to play JJ for your whole stack at 10/20 preflop? Just flat and play a pot, you are 150 bb deep and in the first or 2nd level of the tourney (not sure cause i'm american) and it's just totally unnecessary to play with that much variance this early.

Re: The Big 5.50 JJ early stages. How did I play this?
Raising the 3bet is fine this deep. people call bad and can't let go. Lead the flop with an ace and get it in. Too many bad players early to do otherwise after pre.
and any tard with AA will 5 bet shove or overbet mostly. Either way on the flop I'm getting it in

Re: The Big 5.50 JJ early stages. How did I play this?
In the early stages with no ante this deep, unless it is just some random spewtard fish i just flat pre. What happens if we get 5b/5bshove? We're never happy getting JJ in here pre. And 4b/fold is just a waste.
As is ch/r flop looking to get it in, a lot of AK,AQ hands and also could possible be random draws.
If we ch/c flop then ch/jam turn, i think leading often enough just gets called and keeps pot smaller than we want.

Interesting replies.
Just a general statement. I find that the JJ hand can get you involved in a lot of tricky situations & can just be a very difficult hand to play at times.
