BB/100 or other stats to measure your skill?

Hey guys,
I'm playing MTTs and I'm asking myself what is the "truest" indicator of your skill stat-wise. Obviously the true ROI or winnings can't be the most accurate. So my question is, if the BB/100 (or better: All-in-Adj. BB/100) is an indicator of your skill in MTTs? Or is it just in the nature of MTTs and changing stacksizes all the time, that this isn't a reliable stat?
Would really appreciate thoughts on this topic, as variance in MTTs is obviously huge and a small stakes grinder needs to find confidence in his play!
