Annoying JJ hand $11 10k guar.

Something like the 5th hand so nothing on villain what so ever. I don't really ever 3bet here so early on oop but am listening if people say that i definitely should be.

Just putting him on an overpair ott all the time so does that make this a fold?

Does anyone c/r/f the flop?

Re: Annoying JJ hand $11 10k guar.

i would 3bet pre for value because he is opening in late position. he is likely to be opening a ton of hands and will defend to our 3bet with lots of hands which we dominate, like pairs and J10s+. The other good thing about 3betting this hand and getting flatted is that we eliminate QQ+ from his range, so we know that on a low flop we have the best overpair.

if he raises from ep then we can flat, because his range is much stronger.

Re: Annoying JJ hand $11 10k guar.

I would def 3bet this pre, I would probably go about 170ish and if villain 4bets/shoves on us I think we would have an easy fold this early on as we have no stats/reads and he would be repping at worst 1010 I think.

As played I think the shove on the turn is very spewy by villain but I think it is probably a puke/fold but I could see calling here but probably best case seeing AKs or worst case QQ/KK/AA. So, I would fold to the shove this early on still having 100+ BBs to work with and having lost close to the minimum you could have.

this early, flatting is just fine, esp vs 4x bb raise

as played, i fold flop, villain could have any hand, and he is likely to fire turn + river again, and u wont be able to put him on a hand. if you c/r him now, you have to call his shove,

This is odd. Anytime the person flats JJ this early and gets in a tough spot, people say that the OP should 3bet.. When the Hero 3bets pre with JJ this early and gets 4bet, people say they would flat.. We need to make up our minds people!

+1

basicly we are "set" minning, though id get my stack in against a nit on a flop like 10-7-2 etc

if we 3bet, villain is most likely to fold, gj 100 chips for me, or he will 4bet/shove, we fold

Just 3b pre so you actually know where you're at......who cares if you only win a small pot....better than
flatting 3 streets.... You're just gonna station it off on low boards like this. Define the Vs hand for the minimum instead of flatting against his entire opening range.

Note....if you get 4b would consider folding readless you def can't flat that... I would OPR then either 5b or fold

Re: Annoying JJ hand $11 10k guar.

i definitely prefer flatting this deep though. With his bet sizing here I can quite happily fold the turn, if not the flop as someone said. That's cheaper than 3bet/f.
Also there's still a chance he'd flat a 3bet and we'd have to cbet/f a lot of flops.

I prefer flatting and seeing what happens later, getting info from bet sizes and if possible get to a relatively cheap showdown on a low board.

Flat is fine pre. You can 3b as well if playing 3b pots oop vs ransoms doesn't make you uncomfortable.

Snap call turn.

Turn is a card from god. Bet it.

And at some point trapping means springing said trap unless you want to be hellmuth and think you are so much better than the world.

Don't mind it as played if you called the turn.

Re: Annoying JJ hand $11 10k guar.

3bet pre to know where you are. If he 4bets you fold. Then you bet flop and if he calls you bet turn. If he raises you turn, you fold.

As played Joeyjojo makes a good point about trapping. People always like to flat pre with these hands saying to themselves that they're going to trap villain if the board is right yet when the opportunity comes they actually never spring the trap. You're really just being passive.
