Why 480 pre? Why?
Why make it 8bb to go when we are hundreds of BB deep? It makes no sense to me.
I want him calling with A6. I want him calling with KJ. The only reason I 3 bet at all is I want to thin the herd a little bit, I don't want to play against 6 opponents here.
Making it 480 serves to bloat the pot to a point where if I miss the flop it makes my c-bet amount unnecessarily uncomfortable.
I see this all the time here, people just kind of arbitrarily saying we should have made the pf 3-bet bigger, but I really never see any logic behind it.
"Don't wanna give him the right odds to call with atc" doesn't make sense to me. I
want to play pots with deep stacks and big hands in position against villains with garbage cards that I can outplay postflop.
