UTG is a very good pro. The 3.5 rebuy is about the smallest stake I find him at. We played Hu in a $8 180m a while a while ago (he won on a massive coin flip) but I still only have 400 hands on him.

I thought this was an interesting hand in ranges. I think we can really narrow V's hands down to just a handful down by the river, so we should be able to value bet very profitably.

PokerStars - $3.30+$0.20|300/600 Ante 50 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BTN: 15,813.00
SB: 2,648.00
Hero (BB): 12,953.00
UTG: 18,496.00
UTG+1: 5,661.00
MP: 5,410.00
MP+1: 5,955.00
LP: 33,820.00
CO: 14,631.00

BTN posts ante 50.00, SB posts ante 50.00, Hero posts ante 50.00, UTG posts ante 50.00, UTG+1 posts ante 50.00, MP posts ante 50.00, MP+1 posts ante 50.00, LP posts ante 50.00, CO posts ante 50.00, SB posts SB 300.00, Hero posts BB 600.00

Pre Flop: (1350.00) Hero has 6 A

UTG raises to 1,380.00, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 780.00

Flop: (3510.00, 2 players) 7 Q 9
Hero checks, UTG checks

Turn: (3510.00, 2 players) T
Hero bets 1,250.00, UTG calls 1,250.00

River: (6010.00, 2 players) K
Hero bets ???

So at this point I think he has: 88, TT, JJ, AJ, TJs and KJs and that's just about it.

You don't think he peels with AK? If you include AJ in his range otr, I think AK has to be included as well (both are gutshots ott, except AK which has two overs vs one with AJ).

Based on the checked back flop, your turn lead can look like a steal when his value hands are underrepped. It looks like you have 10K left and you don't want to size your bet so big that it eliminates any bluffs from your range (too big a bet might imply only value hands given 20bb stacks pf). I think half pot can get you some wider calls with paired k's at the top of v's range. This would leave you with around 7k which makes it feel like a more 'comfortable' bluff - anything more feels too strong and if he thinks so, he may toss everything except paired Ks.

Very interested to hear what others have to say about sizing.

Was in half a mind to add AK to the range.

I didn't think V checks back AK then calls a bet when the board gets uglier OTT. I've been wrong before so maybe it's worth putting in there. AJ is double gutted so that's why I included it

Jam the river. Maybe go a tad more on turn so you can still overbet river when you get good bluff cards/hit flush.

Just to clarify OTR we have 10K and and the pot is 6k

I might be paranoid but there's potential to fold out Jx for that much. I'd be happier with it if I had tried to run some big overbet bluffs on him before but we just don't have that much history.

You polarize your sizing so as to make a J want to call. I know it's about 10k as well. THat's why I said size more on turn to still overjam river.

yeah I agree something like 1750 OTT would set us up much better

Over bet jamming just gets villain to fold out everything except the jack of clubs and possibly any sets holding a club, you lose a lot of value from this I feel.

The reason we wanna polarize here is that we basically have no middle str hands we're betting for value so just polarize and have our nutted hands and bluffs. Sets are basically equal to a J sort of given what our value range is on the river. Like we're prob not vbetting a set as opposed to c/c or maybe c/cry folding bad sets.

Also random thought from the weekend. If we overbet and he's folding that much then overbet bluff more then.
