jam 88/99+ AJs+, AQ+

I'm a newb and not understanding the JAM in this spot with 18BB & a small pair?

He still has 5 players to get through, with 3 stacks of 70BB + and also the big stack at the table who initially opened.

My jam range here would be 88+ A-10s+ at 18BBs... Guess I am doing it wrong

No, you aren't doing it wrong. Jamming here is just pretty awful. Pretty sure people saying jam haven't done the math.
