Well live, I prefer to keep my fold/fear equity for all the nits out there ss ! I am pretty sure he had more nits to shove onto than LAGs to play back at with a shortstack.
I had better success avoiding the LAGs live (which are very few in 0-100$ buy-ins late game, they are in general bad enough to have been kicked out or else, they are really good and in this case BTN is one of them) and shoving tighter against them while shoving on the other nits to get some chips back.
See Johnnie's comment :
"Most of the table hadn't been calling shoves from other short stacks."
Why BTN is calling here with a shortstack he is covering right after him? Why is he calling after a weak-tight player instead of isoing him from a shortstack who doesn't seem to push light ? If he wanted to steal the pot, since OP seemed quite tight and the other one was weak-tight, the spot would have been right on. Why isn't he profiting from it ?
At the end of a live tournament, more people than online would be calling only with strong hands and putting pressure with garbage. He must have a clue that OP would be going all-in lighter here and waiting to call with a better hand while limping. If OP seems skilled and BTN has a clue, I don't see him calling with garbage.
I agree that it's not standard play but I don't feel the situation is a standard push while I still have FE and Fear Equity against nits.
