10€ - 6max, near bubble

Hi everybody,

44 players left, ITM 39.
BB is a little bit aggressif on BvB,

Holdem no limit Tournament (9€ + 1€)
Winamax Poker - 6 players
Converted with HandConverter.fr

Stacks:
UTG - Bastos38AK (163140)
CO - druide EPR (87946)
BTN - polag1 (44637)
SB - Hero (108015)
BB - x_orangina83 (164631)

Blinds: 2500/5000 (+ Ante 620)

Preflop: (10600, 5 players) Hero is SB with A J
3 folds, Hero raises to 107395 (all-in), x_orangina83 calls 102395

What do you think about my shove ?
What about vilain calling range ?

Thank you

If BB is that aggro bvb, just B/C.

That is an interesting discussion, with aggro blind defenders, which line do we prefer:

R/C ; you can trap villain with nut hands, R/F other hands
Open shove; max fold equity, shoving wider range than R/C.

I like r/c.

6 max bvb AJ is pretty big so we have to maximise value i.e. stack off rather than just take down blinds/antes, which is most likely outcome with an open jam.

Esp approaching the bubble v aggro player, he jams pretty wide here.

Only concern is it can get awkward if we get flatted oop.

At these levels with 21bb a shove from SB looks weaker than a normal minraise or 2.5bb raise.
I feel like in these spots I will be better off mixing minraises with going all-in rather than going all-in with AJ+

@ the_worm I don't think we should be that eager to get maximum value on the bubble.

When we get jammed aggro, we can't have more that ~60% or so. So definitely not a good thing.

IMO our chipEV may be slightly bigger but our $EV drops.

If you care to give me some re-steal and call the open push ranges on the Villains part, I will do the calculations.

During the moment, approaching the bubble, I preferred choice a low variance and cEV+ move than r/c.

Why not? The bubble is a key stage for chipping up. Are you playing for a min-cash or do you want to put yourself in a position to finish top 3?

Your edge might only be marginal but you still have to take it. You could even be a 3-1 fav here against weaker Ax, Jx.

I might be wrong but I don't think $EV is much of a factor this early?

I would raise your standard minimum and call vs agro.
But if he not only likes 3-betting but also likes flatting than shove is good.
"A little bit agressive" actually is wierd description imo )
