1.10 deep 99 facing 6x oop

This hand upset me a lot especially because i timed out while thinking what to do.Villain was overagressive pf and postflop, but his standard was 3x mixed with some 2x,so i was in dark when he suddenly made it 6x
What's the best option here, knowing that's 8 people left and all seem bad?

This is pretty strange. Something silly like 6x is a baby pair more often than not ...
I think I'm still 3-betting here.

Don't like flatting at all.
'cause it's gonna be very difficult to play postflop.
Also 3 - bet/fold is meh.
I guess without reads on his 6x openning it's just a fold.

Re: 1.10 deep 99 facing 6x oop

Can't see how folding 99 four-handed could possibly be good. We have about 17 to 1 on a set mine here, so flatting really can't be all that bad, and if villain is this spewy preflop, I'd love to see how spewy he is post. Three-betting also seems good to me, since I agree with remy - it's usually a low pair that wants to win the pot right away. The one thing I don't like about 3-betting is that we can't call a 4-bet here.

Interesting spot for sure, probably a fold for me, cause what's the point of flatting?

9's have a hard time making it past most flops, doubt this is a misclick for him pre.

As nitty as it seems I would fold, but going with a read in whatever action I took.

Re: 1.10 deep 99 facing 6x oop

We could not be that shure that it's only small pocket.

flatting oop here is the worst option, imo.
'cause call 6x raise for just a setmine without guarantee beeing paid is not good.
And I doubt we can play postflop if we don't hit a set.

3-bet is way much better, but I don't like it that much also, because we have to fold against 4-bet, probably, so 3-bet/fold becomes really expansive.

So, thats why i like folding here )

Re: 1.10 deep 99 facing 6x oop

Stacks are pretty deep. I think raise/call/fold would depend greatly on your level of activity and the current table dynamic. You mentioned he was pretty aggro...how about yourself? How about other players? Is he stealing blinds most any opportunity that arises?

6x raise is definitely out of the ordinary and feels weak to me FWIW. The spot is not pretty, I'll give you that, but with the information at hand I think I like 3betting a healthy amount (maybe 350k-420k) with intention to fold if he 4bets big (b/f). Calling feels too passive, and folding too weak when holding 99 despite the perdicament his 6x raise creates.

Re: 1.10 deep 99 facing 6x oop

come on, there's no way we're folding. We're 4-handed with 99 facing a 2b. I know that his sizing weighs him heavily towards the top of his range, but we're 93bb deep. We can't be certain about how nutted his range is, but if its super-nutted we're getting set odds to double up. If it isn't super-nutted our hand has sdv. So +1 to proudwalker and kami.
