How come certain players have waitlists and others do not?
10-02-2015 , 03:38 PM
yeah this is horrible, someone needs to address this immediately

the "new waitlists" that party has deployed are not an option for me or anyone else that plays on Mac. The function simply isnt there.

if you guys are going to implement something, you need to make it for all your clients or not at all. This isn't the first time you've neglected your Mac client, I remember not being able to play Heads Up tournaments during the big tournament series because it just "wasn't possible" on the Mac client for some ridic reason.

Its insane that I'm a disadvantage to get on tables because I play on Mac. Please address and fix this immediately.

Man is that really the case, seems kind of nuts. Oh and in before the inevitable "get a real computer" comment

Where is party on this? I emailed them and the response was absurd. They took it as if I was giving them a 'suggestion' they would THINK about.

Hi XXXXX,

Thank you for bringing this up.

I appreciate your constructive remarks and have submitted your feedback to the software developers for their consideration.

Thank you again for your email and for your attempt at contributing to the further improvement of our site!
Just amazing.

lol- absurd they thank you for your ATTEMPT TO SUGGEST an improvement. i guess what they wanted to say was we're not really interested but well pass it along in case the developers can decide on their own to make the improvement without the sites telling them to.

sounds like another low level employee who couldnt understand how to simply say thank you for your suggestion and leave it at that regardless of how they plan to handle it.

Hi all

I have raised the issue of the missing wait-list functionality for our MAC users with the NJ tech team and await an answer
Apologies for my delay in response to this thread
I am aware this was planned to go live alongside our desktop users in our recent release

Will update all when possible

Thanks

Colette

Hi

The team have confirmed the wait list function is available for our MAC users and can see no issues with functionality

Should you feel this is not the case OP- can you kindly provide some more detail on what you are expecting/feel we are missing

Kind regards

Colette

Found it. Its very annoying that its a tab at top of computer. Thought it wasnt there because PC users have it in the client next to my tickets.

so currently, there are waitlists available on the party software.....but not borgata? i play on the borgata site and there is definitely no waitlists, but i constantly see people instantly getting seats at a full table the second someone leaves. i was under the impression multiple ppl have access of some kind of script because the speed at which it happens is insane. sometimes i will join a game with 1 person sitting and literally with 2 seconds of me joining a seat will say "reserved". i think anyone remotely familiar with scripts would agree this is exactly what it sounds like is going on. i hope im wrong because its obviously making for a very bad environment if it is the case.

The wait list function is available on both Borgatta desk top and MAC

If you are referring to MAC - in the menu select lobby > Waitlist will be included in the drop down options

party rep,

im running windows 7 on my desktop and there is definitely nothing in the options tab or anywhere else in the options that i can see referencing waitlists. If you could please let me know where to find this information for desktop rather than mac it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Player can join the waitlist for a certain stake directly from the listing of tables in the main lobby. They can either click on the ‘find seat button’ in the lower right corner, or right click on the listed table stake they wish to join, and click on ‘find seat’ menu option to add themselves on a global waitlist. The player will be seated on the next available table of the same stake.

Players also have the option to customize the criterion on the waitlist for the table stakes they wish to join. These include customized filters based on the game name, stake, type of table (heads-up, 6max, and 9-max) and minimum number of seated players.

I hope that helps

are seat scripts aloud on partynj?
01-13-2016 , 09:13 PM
They need to go back to the old table listing so people can't use their seating scripts.
01-15-2016 , 03:47 PM
Agree. It's pretty bad when the regs who use them are all on At once. And it seems like the trump the wait list they are so quick
01-15-2016 , 07:42 PM
wouldnt a waitlist working as its supposed to function explain how people are able to sit at a table as if they were using a seating script?

just saying

easy...the script is faster than the waitlist function.

the waitlist seems to have an amount of time where it lags before it reserves the seat. since you set how many players you want to be at the table, my guess woudl be that the software is designed to sweep the lobby every x seconds (maybe ms) and look for a table with the correct parameters you entered, then once it finds a table it reserves it in whatever order you're on the waitlist.

the lobby in general has a noticeable lag. you can look at a table and it says 6/6 seated...but when you open the table, only 1 person is sitting there. my guess is this lag in the lobby is how the seating scripts are constantly beating the watilist function.

there are 1 or 2 regs that are ALWAYS first to the table, and are quite clearly using a script. their scripts are likely sweeping the lobby constantly and at a much faster rate, or they just ahve all the empty tables open, so there's no lag, therefore when a new table starts, they are snagging the best seat before the waitlist realizes a table is even dealing (since the waitlist is looking at the lobby, rather than the actual tables), and the script takest he seat before the walitist has a chance to start reserving seats.

idk, the above is all just my own theory on waht's going on

Everything working fine for me here, based on what I saw everyone with Windows/regular PC is working fine and anyone with a Mac just doesn't have/see the waitlist option?

If this is inaccurate, please correct my statement and I'll brush up on my reading comprehension.

I use Mac and can use the wait list....

Also gags theory is the same as my own. It's very obvious the few regs who use scripts and they are much faster than the wait list feature. So correct if the wait list worked properly it wouldn't be a problem but they don't so therefore it's a large problem

Regarding the above, I am using Party on a Windows 10 laptop. I don't see any reference/option for waitlist anywhere and if I click "Find Seat" or "Play Now", from the lobby or directly from a full table after I open it, I just get seated at an empty table (and not put on the waitlist for the full table).

Please could you clarify on this.

Thanks
