software glitch or cheating? software glitch or cheating?

message emailed to partypoker

During the final table of last nights 7:20PM $50K Sunday ticket freeroll I was either cheated out of a chance to win or you have a major glitch in your software. It started during a hand when I inadvertently entered the wrong amount to raise and when I highlighted the amount to change it nothing happened in that box but the button to call changed to the amount I was trying to enter.

Then during another two hands when I thought I was playing only against one opponent with considerably less chips than I the call button was considerably more than that one opponent and the raise button was a all-in amount. Wanting to play against that one opponent I hit the only buttons that would allow me to continue. Turns out that their was another opponent in play that was not showing up on my screen. No icon, no cards and no chip amount showing for player vulcan95. I was third in chips, not far behind the top two chip stacks when this started to happen and was out after this cheating incident or software glitch. How can a player not show up on the screen? After being eliminated I continued to watch and player vulcan95 was still not showing up on my screen. I attempted to write in the comment box to ask the other players at the table if the same thing was happening to them but it would not enter it, I'm assuming it was due to the fact that I was now only a spectator. I closed down that screen and reopened that table again and this time vulcan95 was showing at the table.

I have won a $200 freeroll ticket in the past and know how hard it is to accomplish, so for this to happen when I'm at the final table with 7 players left and I'm third in chips is incredibly frustrating if it was a glitch and downright wrong and needs to be corrected if this was due to cheating.

I am player ltsplypkr and look forward to what you find.

Thank you for contacting Customer Service.

I am sorry for the inconveniences you have faced.

I have double checked our records and I can confirm that both you and player- vulcan95 were playing on the same table.

You were playing on Table No.7 around 8:21 PM and the game was played without any issues. There must have been a display issue on your end. When such issues occur you can just log out and log back in and check if they are not resolved as you confirmed that when you went back on the table you were able to see that player.

I can assure you that you were not cheated and there was no glitch. When you see such discrepancies in future just log out and back in and as you restart the software it will most probably be resolved.

If you have any further concerns or are facing any issues, please get back to us.

In case you have further questions, we will be more than happy to assist you. We are available 24/7.

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site.

my reply

How in the hell could it be a display issue on my end when every other player was visible to me except vulcan95? I read the twoplustwo partypoker forum website and this is just another example of your standard response that it has to be the players computer that has the issue and not a problem on your end. Why would a call button change to a amount I was trying to enter as a raise, your software has issues that you are ignoring instead of fixing. This is why I refuse to put real money at risk, your software and customer service is a complete joke.

I would wipe the software off your machine, restart the machine and then redownload and reinstall and see if it happens again while playing the free rolls.

I never personally experienced this but sounds like a glitch in the software not cheating.

I can confirm that this has happened to me twice and I know of one other player on the site that told me it happened to him as well.

It is highly likely this is a software problem that only shows up from time to time on certain platforms (OS). That may be why it hasn't been widely reported.

1. Logging out and logging back in at a critical moment costs you to lose chips and time, so it's not a reasonable option.

2. The best indicator this is happening is when you see a call amount that indicates a raise, but none of the visible players is showing a raise.

3. If you have the stacking console enabled, you can see the action line by line. In that way you are less vulnerable to the "invisible player" software glitch.

4. It is best to avoid action as long as possible till you can get to a break when you can log out and log back in.

Green, can you please clarify something?

Do you mean when you mouse over the seat, you could see the player? By saying "put the cursor on the persons name" where do you mean exactly, on the table, in the lobby, etc.

Also, this happened in the nightly O8 tournament is that correct? Do you remember how many people were left? This seems to happen most often at the final table, so I'm trying to figure out if that is a coincidence or somehow related to the problem.

This happened to me twice in cash games on Borgata. Player looked like they had folded. The first time it ****ed up how I played the hand, the second didn't matter. But obviously this is a big bug and needs to be fixed.

OK,

so this "invisible player" problem continues to happen.

I do not think updating your client software does anything. Sometimes I have been able to make the player "re-appear" by logging out and logging back in.

Here is the work-around I have found helps a little. If you enable the "stacking console" you can at least see this player's actions. It won't show the user-ID or their stack size, but you can see actions such as "Folds," "Calls" etc.

So if you suspect there is actually a player in an empty seat at your table, open the "stacking console."

if the issue resurfaces, please contact customer care if possible with screen shot and / or with the hand number.

I provided them with a picture the last time I called them about it.

However, this problem seems to occur more often you play on the software. And because of the changes to the tournament schedule, I do not play with nearly the same volume that I was putting in even a month ago.

Happens sometimes to me also. Not so much the different amounts for a call but players not having cards still being in the hand. Also once in a while I won't be able to see my cards during a hand. Putting the mouse over the cards sometimes shows them but not always.
