Lately, I have been getting severe and frequent disconnections with the geolocation error message. When I check my wireless, it usually shows I have more than enough networks in range for geolocation ( I am under the impression it requires 3 networks to locate you ).

Sometimes I will be disconnected from one skin and still have the other run no problems. Sometimes multiple NJ sites go down in tandem. Being disconnected at crucial final tables or in the middle of hands where I have the nuts ... well that has gotten really old at this point.

It's clear that the geolocation system was poorly designed. It does not work as intended. Even when I have to log in via a mobile phone out of sheer desperation, I still get geolocation errors. Surely a mobile tower should be sufficient proof of my location in the state.

There has to be a better way to implement this system.

I am pretty sure that in the past when people were disconnected the system used to time them down.

Now it seems like when the system suddenly believes you are no longer in NJ, it will just snap fold you. It doesn't matter how long your time bank is. So even when I log out, log back in and geolocation does work, it still folds me out of key hands.

Party Rep: If they know there is an issue with geolocation, why not give people time to reconnect and not automatically fold them out of key hands?

I have again asked the tech team to review the geo location issue and confirm if recent changes have been made.

During the recent release update together with our supplier of geolocation software, we’ve upgraded our system to be better at locating your GPS position while inside New Jersey. This means more reliability when playing on a handheld device overall

Thank you for your response Collette.

First of all let me say, I only report problems on this forum because I truly want this product to work. I think that the company has started to hold some of these reports against me frankly. I am a big believer in this company, but the problem management / change management procedures that are in place are not adequate.

Having said that, Geolocation errors in specific have gotten worse since the update, not better. There are now more kinds of errors too. Before it used to be one generic message. Now I can get a variety, from "You could not be located" to "You are not in NJ!" I am receiving all these errors while in a regular home in NJ. I am not in an RV or moving vehicle.

Geolocation is supposed to require 3 wireless networks to work. I am showing 7-8 and still randomly get them. If PartyPoker is paying an outside vendor for this software, they are not getting their money's worth. I literally have to curtail my amount of play because I refuse to be geolocated out of key pots.

Today I was eliminated after a geolocation error in a tournament when I had a top 5 chip stack. I wasn't even in a hand. It told me I wasn't in NJ, then said "You finished 23, thanks for playing!" This is unacceptable.

So early this morning I received the standard CS response regarding the tournament I was automatically placed in. As usual, 90% of the facts I provided in my email were not understood. They told me they auto-eliminated because I was not in NJ!!! Never mind that I played the entire tournament till that point from NJ, and my house is not moving. They said if you are too close to the "border" of NYC this will happen.

I am not at all close to the border. And I played at least 100 games yesterday other than that one.

Whatever "improvements" have been made to geolocation have definitely made it worse, and it was not that good to begin with. How crazy do I have to be to gamble my entry fees on this platform? Never mind the fact of poker variance. I have to deal with software variance stealing my equity when I have a stack that should get me to the final 3 of an MTT.

ever since the latest update i am no longer able
to be located,party/borgata cs is useless
before the update i had no problems
i also have no problem being located by wsop/888
guess who will be getting my business

Just curious, what part of NJ you are in?

Sorry for you, because I know what a pain this is. I hope we can get this fixed soon.

We are in trouble buddy. I hope you are not waiting for a quick fix on this. Software is complex on it's own, and this problem was made worse by a 3rd party trying to make it better. I suspect it's going to take a while for them to figure out what went wrong.

ive played on and off on these sites for over a year and half and this is the first time I am having any issues with geolocations.

i just wish stars comes soon.

Same for me. No problems since launch, now can't get located at all. Tried deleting and re-installing. No problems connecting with the mobile app - but won't play long tourneys on it.

yeah i talked to a support rep and they said there wasn't any change in their geo location software which just can't possibly be true.

The PartyRep said that the 3rd party provider made "improvements" with this last update. While those were targeted towards mobile mostly, there were changes according to PartyPoker.

Sadly customer service is seemingly trained to deny everything.

yeah right
have heard this before
fact of the matter is simple
before the update no problems getting located
after the update cannot get located
tried everything customer service is useless

Bump.

I have started experiencing this issue lately, too, after going over a year with no geo location issues at all. Nothing has changed on my end except maybe normal system updates (Windows 7)

In the weird coincidences I will test later, I just had the error kick me off (and cost me a HU Hyper) when I opened chrome, and now that chrome is closed it is letting me in again

edit not it, 2 more hu hypers gone. I don't know if I can keep playing. I know I paid at least 5k in rake over the last 3 months due to my status, and I am sure party will make none of this up to us.
