Would like to make a trip out to Union/Jersey city tom. and grind some tourneys and cash but it seems like some of these places have geolocation issues. Can anyone confirm if they were able to play in these areas connecting at a Dunkin donuts or Mcdonalds thanks

Most WiFi in stores have Geolocation issues. That's because they use proxys. Even though proxy's are critical to IP communications and used everywhere, somebody decided that geolocation should not be able to work with proxies.

For sure, as far as I know McDonalds has never worked. They have global proxies that run out of state and geolocation did not work the once or twice I have tried.

There is some public WiFi in Hoboken that does seem to work usually. But I don't think there is a Starbucks / McDonalds / etc. anywhere that does not use proxies.

fwiw I was able to connect at a DD without issues. Not sure if they use a proxy or not but I had to accept terms and conditions before getting on. its not an ideal setup especially when the place gets crowded and ppl start looking at you but for the occasional grind its not to bad

I talked to a friend of mine who usually comes in from the city and he did confirm DD works for him. I really rarely connect in public places after having bad results.

As of the last time I tried McDonalds did not work for me.

Anybody here try Starbucks or Barnes and Noble? Most public Wifi is set-up using a proxy, but I guess it's better to verify each possibility one by one.

As a side note, it would be nice if PartyPoker actually had people from the company test this to provide us with this information.

Anyone can come to my house down at the Jersey shore, however, I will ask for 2 forms of photo id, and I will run you for a background check for obvious reasons. I also would like a 25% cut of your daily winnings, and also you have to sign a contract. If you have a losing day I still ask for $100 for electricity, water, internet, and safe haven. Also you have to play downstairs starting at 8AM in the basement where I will lock the basement door and not unlock it until 10pm.

Downtown Jersey City has lots of local coffee shops that might work. Don't think they'd have the same geolocation issues as a Starbucks or McDs. Most of them close relatively early though.

All jokes aside I'm a reg in hips creepy basement. It's not really creepy , but we needed to give the room a name. Seriously. Really it's not.

Turnpike night is Tuesdays & hips game run on Wednesdays . Ghost of m has a game in the Barnes and nobles somewhere near Hackensack & if that's moving up then he's moving out. Trade to win has the big game on Friday nights behind the dumpster in dunkin donuts where you get free bagels sometimes.

After my turnpike night game I usually shower in the toilet & shoot overnight to hips mid stakes grinder game to make it by 8 am. Sometimes I'm early so I'll just meditate on his grass b/c I know I'll be stuck in his basement until at least 10pm once started.

Afterward hip makes me deal to him & "your doom" , or whatever his name is for that night. Really strange every Wednesday night he comes in & begs us to introduce him to the newbies as someone else . We're like "dude, they can still see you. It's not going to work here." Dooms like "oh , well...you never know man...an edge is an edge dude." We're then like "ok broooo , who are you tonight then"? All the names he then chooses are always already taken in the system (99% of the time by him), so he just settles for Mary1, mary2, mary3 ........& so on. I think we're in week 72 of hips game so next week doom can be Mary 73.

Only fitting hip makes Mary 73 play him HU & I have to read out loud some works of logic, reason, & rationality through a philosophical nature while I deal; all in the confines of hips creepy basement, but doom still thinks he has an edge b/c he gets to be Mary whatever.

Oh. & they play HU without a HUD b/c we all know who's dream it would be to not be able to use HUDS now don't we you little silly Mary goose .

Also note, no offense but this is an area where some homeless seem to set up permanent residence. Playing poker on your fancy laptop / iPad may not be the best idea anyway.

I wouldn't listen to this guy. Either he's lying, is stupid and plays in the waiting room in the middle of the night when noone is logged on, or is a pussy.

I played there for about 2 hours this past Sunday. He is correct in that there are homeless people and shady looking black people that lurk around, this was 4pm-6pm.

But, you also have to consider there are cops everywhere in that area because its the transit system of hoboken. I went to high school in hoboken for 3 years and I know the area very well. I play on my android so it's not that conspicuous.

Honestly, if you choose the waiting room during normal hours, 8am-10pm, you're safe. Llike I said there are cops everywhere, here's an example:

This past sunday, there was a homeless guy sleeping on one of those benches a few down from where I was sitting. I **** you not I have KK on the button and this cop with his handgun clearly visible shoved the homeless guy and was like,

"Sir, wake up." Harder shove." SIR, WAKE UP, that's it,

Homeless: Uhh..err, what?

Cop: Pull your pants up. Where you going? Get outta here, this is a waiting room.

I **** you not this happened, so honestly I feel completely safe there. There are cops everywhere, and I'm not doing anything illegal, so you have nothing to worry about.

Anyway, not sure about that guy's story, but it does point out you just need to keep aware. I always look around every few minutes to reguage my surroundings. When the weather is nice just chill in one of the many parks by the skyline, it's quite relaxing and takes the stress off the game while playing.

I'm headed there now, maybe see you there? Haha

But oh yeah, I've only been using my 4G. According to my phone the software doesn't eat up too much data and allows me to play anywhere. Not sure about wi fi in the waiting room but I know in the starbucks by the path it works.

Oh and one more thing....the only reason why I wound up in the Waiting Room in the first place was because it started pouring randomly, like a straight up shower lol.
