A simple post on here stating the HighRoller would have a different payout scale would have gone a long way imo.
ill tell you EXACTLY why they made an effort to not make things clear.. so they can advertise in the future the amoutn of prize money given to the winner..

"NJCOP 1 high roller pays out 48 thousand to first place! it could be you next time! dont miss out.. register now!"

as far as im concerned they basically robbed me of 500 dollars.

I truly don't think anyone got robbed, or that people should even get refunds tbh.

I do however feel Party could have handled this better. Their statement on the HighRoller issue was laughable and I honestly do not believe they intended to only pay Top 2 (I firmly believe the payouts were wrong) and if they did, they did it in a very deceitful way which in turn only makes this whole situation worse.

thats my point.. they were very deceitful .. and the bottom line is that an overwhelming majority of the field would not have played if they knew it only paid two places. its bull****

They all have a low EQ, which is they have no clue how to deal with people or situations.

Some people just simply appreciate honesty. Here's how I would handle the situation if I got my dream job of being Party Rep for a day

1. Admit that they made an error and the payouts were not as expected
2. But stand firm on the principle that while it was unintended that in theory no one lost any equity
3. For the affected group, maybe give them 50-75% rakeback for a month

People would appreciate #3, and it may be somewhat cost neutral as it would probably encourage more play

simple imo

I'm very disappointed (although not surprised) with party's response to this issue. They have lost at least one high volume player due to their handling of this situation. Like most other people, I don't believe that they intended for this to pay the top two only or that there would be a significant demand for such a tournament. It simply seems like they are unwilling to admit fault for what was in my opinion a software error on their part. For them to not take any action to rectify the situation or even apologize for the glitch has cost them my business.

That response by party is so pathetic. Just admit u messed up and move on. But failure to even acknowledge u ****ed up is such a joke.

I don't think they would either. What kind of MTT pays 2 spots? How could they not have a clear statement that only TWO places get paid in the description? I just thought the payout was bugged or not final until the event got underway. I paid 500 of my 3K online BR a few min before it started, and def would not have played it knowing it paid 2.

The most obnoxious part of Party Rep's response, IMO, is not his failure to apologize or to do anything. It is his insistence that all of their tournament lobbies feature payout schedules. What they feature is current payouts as they update - not a chart detailing the prize pool percentage allocated to each finishing place given ranges of entrant numbers. That is all it would take to have informed everybody about this payout.

it would say

Entrants 2+
1st - x%
2nd - (100 - x)%

And magically, no one is confused and you can actually say that the info was there in the lobby and you did nothing wrong.

Very well said. I agree completely.

It looks like the 10AM $10 buy-in $1500 GTD turbo (relatively new, AFAIK) works the same way. There are currently 13 people registered for it, and only two places getting paid. They should either make it clear that ONLY two places will be paid, or describe the payout table somewhere.

If this is true, I would assume it's simply bc they finally made the payouts a little more reasonable.

Paying top 2 with 13 players is totally reasonable and imo way better than how it usually is (top 6 with 11+)

Just read this thread...wow, what a gongshow. I don't feel bad for anyone who registered AFTER the GTD was reached. It's an epic win for the two guys who cashed.
