Ticket I used is back in my acct, highly doubt they will restart MTT (figured it was done when they paused tables)

There were 582 players remaining in #11, the 200k guarantee when this BS went down. If the tournament is cancelled, only acceptable solution is for Borgata/Party to disburse $343.64 CASH (200k/582) to all remaining participants.

If they choose any other option, like some T$ nonsense, I will withdraw my entire roll and move over to WSOP.

ehh, i would prefer more of an ICM chop but i would completely fine with that amount though.

heck personally if they rounded up and gave me 350 in T dollars i would probably be fine with that too but if they only give me my 200 back, im never playing on their site again.

icm chop with minimum refund of buyin, no t$

The skeptic in me instantly thought they did this on purpose because a massive overlay was inevitable, but I don't want to believe that's the real reason. Hopefully there was a technical issue with tournaments.

They can't possibly be so shortsighted to not realize that the backlash from sabotaging tournaments because of overlays will have far more negative impact then just eating the overlay.
09-14-2014 , 08:20 PM
the overlay had nothing to do with it, the #12 mid never went and they prob tried to fix it and wound up messing everything else up
09-14-2014 , 08:21 PM
would be nice if party rep would confirm tournaments cancelled and not coming back so we don't all have to wait around just in case.

There is a zero percent chance they did it on purpose. This is a complete disaster for the site and NJ poker.

personally im a skeptic by nature but it all depends on how they handle this situation. if they only give the buy in back then this whole situation will smell quite bad.

its been a half hour so I think it safe to say that they cancelled the tourney.

+1. Been 30 minutes since tourneys were cancelled and not a peep out of them. How about at least a mass email or a message here on 2p2. Way to compound an epic fail. I understand that they are probably freaking out themselves right now, but you'd think some level headed person there would tell PR to immediately fire something off.

Borgata Poker's TOS (dunno if Party is the same but probably)

Multi-table tournaments

Players who have been eliminated from a tournament before cancellation for technical reasons will lose their buy-in and entry fee.

Any players still competing in a tournament when it is cancelled for technical reason will be refunded as follows:

1. Each player will be awarded prize money equal to the amount that would have been awarded to the next player to be eliminated.

2. After prize money has been allocated according to point 1, 50% of the remaining prize pool will be distributed equally between the remaining players, and 50% will be distributed on a percentage basis according to the remaining players' chip count at the time of cancellation.

3. The remaining players will also be refunded their entry fee.

Borgata/Party has plenty of flaws they don't address, but I wouldn't be too harsh on them for this one. This used to happen to Pokerstars many years ago. They've only been operating in New Jersey with their current servers for less than a year.

from my live chat session on borgata

Rajnikanth has entered the session.
Mike: whats up with the main event #12 low and mids? Been an hour of them frozen. Are they canceled or no?
Rajnikanth: We are experiencing technical difficulties, and you were disconnected from tournament. Please note, our technical team is currently working on resolving it. Therefore I will ask you for your patience and understanding upon this matter.
Rajnikanth: https://poker.theborgata.com/tournaments/rules.html
Mike: do you have intentions of resuming them or not?
Rajnikanth: They will be cancelled and settled

582*$360 = $209,520
… so if they give everyone $360 they actually lose another $9520

WRONG.

1)
That happened to pokerstars with 100,000 players
This is happening with less than 1000 players

2)
How much did bwin/party pay for their license/marketing/launch in NJ?
What trivial fraction of that amount would be sufficient to purchase the requisite server bandwidth to solve this embarrassment?

3)
There tournament schedule is weak.
Their payout structure is offensive.
Their support is nonexistent.

Don't know if it's just me but I just went into iRewards and the section showing my reward points is totally blank. I'm assuming that has something to do with the tournaments issue.

Unless tournaments and cash games are on completely different servers I don't think that was the issue because there was never any problem with cash games.

Dear all,

We experienced some serious technical difficulties with the Garden State Super Series and some other tournaments this evening which resulted in some of this evening's GSSS events, including the main event, crashing and their cancellation. Numerous attempts to resume these tournaments failed.

Players will shortly be paid out funds as per our tournament cancellation policy which deems that the entire prizepool is considered for payout including the guaranteed money which had not yet been covered by player buy-ins.

The cancelation policy is as follows: http://nj.partypoker.com/how-to-play...nts/rules.html

Eliminated players at the time of cancellation will not be refunded their buy-in or entry fee

Players still in the tournament will be refunded the amount that would have been awarded to the next player to be eliminated from the tournament. 50% of the remaining prize pool will be distributed equally between the remaining players, and 50% will be distributed on a percentage basis according to each player's chip count. The remaining players will also be refunded their entry fee.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will have caused. We have been humbled by this experience and appreciate the enormous burden we have placed on the players tonight and are so sorry. We will diligently work to make certain that we overcome these technical challenges in the future.
