Cannot seat you at this table... Cannot seat you at this table...

06-03-2015 , 02:18 PM
I haven't been playing much lately, but last night I was passing the time with some of the "Steps" SNGs and after a while the software wouldn't seat me because of "a close association with one of the players" or something like that.

Well, that's funny because no one I know plays online poker in NJ besides me, I don't ever chat at the tables and I don't use a so I don't even notice who's sitting at the tables unless I have notes on them.

Anybody else have this experience? Is this a glitch? Did I perhaps sit at the same table with somebody in a bunch of SNGs? (I probably played 20 or so last night.)

WHAT??? strange.

is your screenname close to something somebody else may be using? if you have a common last name maybe somebody else at the table had the same last name or something silly like that and they thought you could be related.

maybe you did sit at the same table with the same player or few players a bunch of times. would have to be a ridiculous amount of times out of those 20 or so for that to even be logical. seeing as though its a limited player pool and they have the sng leaderboard thing going and their sng traffic isnt very high so its pretty much the same people over and over again

Sitting at multiple tables with the same players is not what triggers this "close association" lock-down.

It could be one of the other players has the same last name as you (long lost brother you never knew about who was sold to the circus maybe). Or sometimes if somebody in your same apartment complex is part of your same ISP pool, that might trigger something. Suffice it to say, there is a pretty good chance that one of those players is somebody you know IRL and you just haven't realized it.

Well, I'm stumped. My wife is the only other person in NJ with my last name and she doesn't play poker. I live in a house, not an apartment. I don't hang out with anybody I work with and I have no "friends." Even the people I play golf with (relatives) live in Pennsylvania.

PP rep?

Hi all

I will admit this is the first time I have personally come across this issue
Would you mind sending myself a PM with your user name and I can ask the tech team to have a look?
Have you need able to play since with no similar issues?

Thanks

Colette

I played some yesterday with no problems. We're also talking about very small stakes here, but I just don't this to be a problem down the road if I advance to the higher Steps SNGs. Thanks. PM sent.

Another issue: On Saturday, I decide to play a few SNGs again and I noticed my screenname wasn't seated on one of the tables. I thought at first that maybe I misclicked and hadn't registered, but all of a sudden I was dealt cards. Thing is, my screenname wasn't my own. Furthermore, there were only four people showing at the table, with just two small boxes at their seats. It was clear that cards were being dealt to six players by the way the betting went, but I couldn't see them. Also, any time the empty seat to my right won a pot, it showed the chips going to me, only they didn't. It was crazy. I clicked the tournament update to see what position I was in and at one point it said I was 0/3, but I was still in it.
As it turned out, I finished second (don't really know how) even though I never had my own screenname.
Every hear of anything like that?

There are some basic questions we should have asked.

I will venture to guess that you are running on Windows correct? Perhaps the version of Windows you are running matters.

Either way, it sounds like corruption of the image files in the PartyNJ / Borgata library, depending on the skin you experienced this on.

It goes without saying, but you should immediately backup whatever HH files you want, completely uninstall the program, and reinstall it.

Because when you have these kinds of errors, they will come back. Better to get a clean program library.

Not tinkering, just a program that is not designed in the most robust / reliable way.

It's Windows 7. I'm still waiting to hear back from the first issue. When I do, I'll delete/reinstall program. Thanks.

Hi

I have confirmation from the tech team regarding your issue
It appears there was indeed a conflict with the mobile IP - the team are still working on why this occurred

For now they have cleared all alerts on the account to ensure this does not re occur and are confident this should solve the issue

Regarding the 2nd issue - can you please clear all cache etc and reinstall partypoker

Kind regards,

Colette

Curious about what your last name is, given that you can confidently state no one else in the entire state of NJ has it.

Well, there are some unusual last names out there. I have one of them and have Googled it. I'm the only one.

Vintage Vercetti/LanceVance.

It is pretty incredible that we kind of take Google as a gold standard. It's very good but I wouldn't be surprised if all the information in the world wasn't online somehow.
