You will need a "big 4" cell phone to triangulate your location while you're here, though (and Verizon is .. not accepting our triangulation requests, yet).

If you're coming for the summer tournaments, I'd suggest picking up a cheapo phone that can send/receive texts while you're here.

I'm not from U.S. but I just wonder, what kind of player pool are we talking? The games now range from 2NL to 10NL so let's say any freeroll or tournament? How many players are we expecting in a month/this summer?

Yes - we talk about this every day, but a lot of these things are a little bit out of our direct control. We push as hard as we can to get the states to adopt favorable legislation.

All I would say is to speak with your PPA rep, talk to your local state reps, and point them at Nevada. You can (and should?) even let them know that the tax generated by this venture (which we're happy to pay) is .. meaningful.

NJ is closest, with a schwack (sorry, too much time in Canada) of other states that are tempted.

wonder if Virgin Mobile will work? Think they use the Sprint network.

I don't have a cell phone. Will a land line phone do? It obviously has a 702 area code.

I also have a Boarding Pass card. Can I just go register over at Palace Station, which is only 5 minutes away?

Can I load money in my account with cash by going to Palace Station?

Ultimate Poker CEO will be on CNBC in a few minutes.

Here's to hoping Texas is one of them

Guys, do your homework on this. Be careful.
IOVation has zero access to our software, our database, our hands, our company, our location. We send them a "packet" of information (actually through another vendor called Verifi) that contains a player's SSN/Name/Address/DOB and they tell us yes, no, or maybe so. If we get a Maybe So - we'll need to see a scan of your ID. No means you're using a deceased ID or they found that you're actually only 13 years old.

Posting in epic thread.

Congrats Nevada. Jealous in NY.

HUDs are fine, but our hand histories are very limited right now. I've worked quite a bit on designing a hand history format that will be easily sucked up into things like PT4.

This clause is a blanket statement that allows us to ban someone for using bots (we have some detection already in place) without them claiming they didn't know it was against the rules.

Thanks for the reply. I don't doubt your response. But I find it troubling that any existing poker company would do business with a company (Iovation) that was founded by (and still ran by) Greg Pierson. That's all I have to say, and good luck with the new site.

Mac client eta? What kind of player pool are you anticipating at the 6-month mark?
04-30-2013 , 10:16 AM
Will euros need to buy a new sim while in Vegas or will the temporary net work change be enough to receive the text on whilst being on holiday there ?

this is like the sun shining after 2 years of darkness (black friday)

That's amazing news for people in USA.

Great news for online poker in the US.

I assume the state of Nevada gets some of the action. What percentage do they take? Is it included in the rake?
04-30-2013 , 10:21 AM
This is awesome. If I'm in Vegas this year, I will definitely play on this site. Hopefully this is the start of many great things for online poker in the US
