I sent my drivers license in on the afternoon of the 30th to get verified. Still no email back and that's the last thing I need to be verified.

STOP looking for ways to circumvent their software..if you are so bent on
playing, FLY out there and play or send someone out there and back him.
you can download their software and WATCH from anywhere in the the U.S.
That way you get the thrill of winning and its all legal
Anyone thinking of skirting around legalities with a VPN is a moron. Wouldn't be surprised if there are much worse ramifications than not being able to play online with NGC involved in policing.

Stations Casino had since Feb 2012 to develop or buy software for Ultimate Poker. They are 1st out of gate which is amazing, however the software is ridiculously bad and there are no excuses for it when then had 14 months to get it right.
With limited payer pool Ultimate Bet will be gone in a heartbeat once Caesars-888 and MGM come online and I'm sure it will be very soon. Gee even Zynga poker is a better platform.

No hand history cant even look at prior hands
No resize screen-if u need reading glasses- wear them cause you will go blind looking at screen!
No Mac Client
Pain in butt to reload initial buyin in cash games

I'm sure they will improve but I think they are doomed based on releasing this joke of a platform.
Bottom line if you are going to develop a site do it right from
the start..
Cant wait for amazing client platform to come online!

Dax, I don't know if this has been asked before, but can you give us some insight on why ROW players aren't allowed to play on UP (yet)? Is it related to a business cycle kinda thing where you wanted to launch in NV first, see how it goes, and then expand or is related to your license/ the NV regulation, meaning NV doesn't allow you to have other customers than players that are located in NV while playing?

I want da Americans back

Anyone using a galaxy nexus and tmboile does this work?

On another note it makes no sense Verizon wouldn't triangulate location detection for Ultimate Poker. They do triangulate it for Cantor Gaming Sports book that is able to detect if you are in Nevada and I also believe for Stations Sports book too.
Makes no sense that you can use a friend's Sprint phone in Nevada if you cant use Verizon...

whats up folks...didnt read thru the whole thread so forgive me if im wrong but this is what ive heard...1) multi-table feature where u cascade or tile tables doesnt exist...and 2) cant make notes on players...these options are pretty easy to implement imho even tho im not a software engineer...poor advice from 'online poker advisors' if u asked me...or maybe they just had a hard-on to be first to market before putting something adequate out there....but i bet everyone in NV is super stoked about online poker it really doesnt matter...

dax, do you think they will have a refer a friend bonus in the near future.
I have 43 friends I need to sign up.... LOL
05-02-2013 , 11:13 AM
Avg pot size and players/flop look sick! Especially given that it's 50bb starting stacks.

And to the above poster, yes there is a cascade feature.

Just dl'ed to watch and the games look very juicy .

What percentage of players are likely going to be the type that just learned about this while eating at the $6.99 dinner buffet at the Boulder Station? And what percentage will likely be pro grinders from the Aria, Venetian, Bellagio, and Wynn, not to mention spillovers from pre-Black Friday?

Advice needed. Thanks.[/QUOTE]

Once the app comes out you will know. Just go to the poker rooms and look to see who is playing poker on UP while playing at the tables.

I can tell you that UP will have more casual players than the other American facing sites that's for sure. Ultimate Poker advertises and already has a big non poker marketplace to draw from with it. All the other U.S. allowing poker sites have a high % of regs and 2plus2'ers. The general public is getting to know about this site, can't say the same about any of the others.

I am an online poker vet, on 2+2, have lived in Las Vegas for over ten years, have reconfigured phones and bought new phones in the last two days trying to make this work. No progress. I don't care about the money I've spent. I am personally very interested in this being a long term success.

But if I can't make it work from my home in Las Vegas...
Someone suggested driving to a new location. Have you tried that yet?

What if one doesn't? I agree that this software is lacking. There are several things I want improved. However, it is legal and it's here and they said they will add the things the players are clamoring for. I say let's support them and help get it going. I'm happy we have a site going finally after years of waiting.

That seems absurd, I have the same problem logging in at my apartment. Sure maybe I can go elsewhere to play, but the only place I wanna play online poker is in my apartment.

My husband had no problems with a pay as you go TMobile phone and a Mission Hills location.

That is the exact amount that I am up so far(except a small sit n go which is not included for some reason).

My question is, is this the kind of info that will be reported to IRS automatically and a statement given to me at end of year?

So that would mean so far I have:
$205.57 in income for my taxes even tho I am only up $12.98?

That is after only 1 day playing small stakes, multiply by 365 and would be 75k in income showing even tho I only won $4737.
You will only be taxed on your profits. The amount you've deposited is allowed to be subtracted from the amount you've won, if any at the end of the year.

You will need a "big 4" cell phone to triangulate your location while you're here, though (and Verizon is .. not accepting our triangulation requests, yet).

If you're coming for the summer tournaments, I'd suggest picking up a cheapo phone that can send/receive texts while you're here.

Please yes

So I live in Reno and deposited $300 via ach yesterday. That was the most they allowed and it's barely enough to play. I've since tried to deposit via same method and it wont let another transaction go through. I can't do bank wire as UP's instruction link doesn't currently work. This is troublesome as there's really no easy way for anyone in northern Nevada to get money on when they want it. I tried emailing them but don't see getting a response within 48 hours either.

I think the poster said that once he had be triangulated and verified, he was able to play at his home location. Not sure if it will work for you but worth a try.

Is there a way to determine ahead of time if your cell situation will work? I would hate to go through the whole process (and risk?) of entering all my personal identification information only to find out that my location cannot be verified. It would be cool if you could enter your cell phone number (and whatever other minimal information required to allow the location request to proceed) and find out if this particular issue is going to effect you.

I am going to try this today. I don't have a mobile hotspot so I guess I am going to drive around and see what I can find.

I have been able to get location verified and play since I used wifi in my hotel room. However today using the same setup in same room, on 2 different occasions when I tried to log into site it took me 3 attempts before I was location verified.
