We do encrypt *our* data, and it seems as if we're only liable for breaches if we weren't in compliance with 603A.215 or in the cases of gross negligence.

The only gross negligence in this office is my strategy in open face chinese.

I'm sure you're in compliance with 603A.215, never a concern.

The problem is 603A.030, defined.

"NRS 603A.030  “Data collector” defined.  “Data collector” means any governmental agency, institution of higher education, corporation, financial institution or retail operator or any other type of business entity or association that, for any purpose, whether by automated collection or otherwise, handles, collects, disseminates or otherwise deals with nonpublic personal information."

When a player is requested personal information by email then the ISP/Email provider becomes the Data collector because they handle, collect, disseminates said unencrypted information and forwards on to your email address.

Therefore, IMO when requesting personal information it works both ways in Nevada. I do have NV council checking on this to confirm.

1. If your poker site needs to share information via email with a third party partner, it must be encrypted as you have stated then #2 would surely apply.

2. If you request personal information via email from a player it should be encrypted too. Reason being it's coming from the Data collector which is the ISP, or Email provider.

More will come out on this issue in time but it's good for everyone to know that sending personal information of any kind by regular email isn't safe, just a heads up.

For those wondering where the regulations being discussed here's the link: http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-603A.html

In the mean time congrats on being the first real money poker site in Nevada, best of luck!

Sorry for the slight derail/ about player protection.

I don't know if the UP people in this thread are aware, but **** just broke on the Iovation people. That Iovation was approved by the NGCB is a terrible lapse by them, but UP should get out ahead of this QUICK.

You guys at UP need to do some serious damage control regarding this Ultimate Bet confusion. I'm sitting in a 5/10 game at Red Rock and a middle aged fish wearing a legacy ftp jersey just came in berating the dealing for wearing a UP uniform. He effectively just told the whole table that Ultimate Bet "owns a piece of Ultimate Poker" and "anyone who plays on UP must be crazy" pls god fix this

Did he see the irony in wearing an ftp shirt?

Don't see how you fix UP's own incompetence they either knowingly hired cams/iovation through someones connection or they are just completely incompetent ! Either way all the bad press they are gonna receive is 100% deserved . They are giving your social security # to a guy who was without a doubt 100% involved in the UB scandal !

Why do we want the start of legal online poker to be with a site so incompetent ? I am sick of all the insider bs that goes on in this industry it should not be allowed in the legal version at all !

Lost a ton of respect for Terrence and Antonio for signing on as brand ambassadors without doing any research and supporting a company that is paying these ****ing cheats

People need to contact the Nevada Gaming Commission about the connections between UP and UB. Unlike the Kahwanakhe criminals the Nevada Gaming Commission is legit.

glad I found out BEFORE providing any personal info to UB or any of its affiliates

hopefully, WSOP will be out with their software SOON and hopefully, they will be smarter than Stations has been, in many regards

like accountants say, FIFO

This site has a business relationship with a key alleged UB cheat Greg Pierson. His company is handling security.

Hi all,

We think we may have made some progress, but we need data. Can I get a couple of you Verizon users (who are age/ID/address verified and also located in Nevada) to try texting YES to UPOKER (876537) and then try logging in to Ultimate Poker? Then go ahead and report the results ITT.

really?

how do you expect people to play on your site when some of the biggest frauds and cheats in the history of online poker are profiting from your site

unless you take action and get rid of iovation immediately, don't expect us to not flame/troll this thread lol

edit: I recommend you watch or read the article summarizing the 3 hr leak of Russ Hamilton, Pierson et al. and then read this thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...er-ub-1329842/

domains change hands all the time. People buy up domains that are similar to their actual domain.

this website picture is pretty much meaningless (you will see in the post you quote, that dave said "lols"

Iovation is apparently NOT approved. They are a third-party used by the approved company, CAMS.

Hi. I have Norton on my computer and it has a caution on the software. Someone from Ultimate Poker needs to contact Norton and resolve any issues. They are saying there is some type of download vulnerability. I stopped by Red Rock the other day and mentioned it to your rep there. I hope she was able to send it on to the company, I would love to start playing online.

Try updating your Norton definitions. I believe I read earlier ITT that UP is now on Norton's approved list as of a couple days ago.
