Will it be a promo in NJ that you need to use points for? I love the new UP hoodie I got this week, but I may regret getting it.

No points involved for NJ promo

Eagerly awaiting the NJ version of the promotion "Chase the Dream".

I think you guys should pay 3:2 on blackjack instead of even money for this promo.

also wondering how double and split is to be handled. If I win I would bring an extra 5k to double an 11. It doesn't say in the terms if we are allowed to dbl or split though. Just says BJ will pay even money.

We're basically putting up the 5k, what you choose to do beyond that is your call.

We can't change the rules of blackjack; that's the jurisdiction of Red Rock.

tbh I'm not a big fan of the one bet blackjack for either the player or Ultimate Poker. From a players pov it's very likely to be a bet that he'd never imagine making and would much rather the 5k... true the 2.5k does offset this and therefore makes the bet a must play.

From UP's perspective if the player wins there's a very good chance that money will never see the site again. Instead perhaps 50 tickets to the Sunday 10k would help keep the money in the system and keep a player happy for a year on the site.

Is there a new NJ promo? This blackjack talk has me confused.

No, its a promo they are doing in Nevada... we are still waiting on the NJ promo.

Standard for blackjack to pay 1:1, but thats why these sorts of things are normally just restricted to even money bets.

Should be allowed to bet the pass line IMO.
I'll probably take the bet regardless if I win, but would much prefer just putting it on the pass line.

That's cool. So maybe you guys can change the terms on the UP site that state if the player receives a natural 21 "blackjack" they will receive a 1:1 payout.

Red rock would usually pay you $7500 on a $5k bet of blackjack. 3:2.

I still think software updates need to happen before promos, but I think 888 has a great idea with their free rolls: play in x raked cash game hands to get a ticket to the free roll. UP needs to get some cash game traffic if they are ever going to thrive. The 888 promotions seem to be the sort of thing that casual players would eat up, and getting tourney donks into cash games can't hurt, either

Since Las Vegas is a big tourist draw for most of the year what do you guys think about an Ultimate Poker House. The concept would sort of work by allowing out of state players to stay for free at a fun house shared with other players in exchange for putting in decent volume on Ultimate Poker. Players could stay for a minimum of say 4 days and stay up to a few weeks provided their volume is sufficient. If UP pros/UFC fighters would come visit the house from time to time to watch a football game or UFC and hang out I think a lot of people would want to be there. Showing pics/videos on their blog etc would let players from all over realize that UP is the fun choice for online poker. The cost for UP wouldn't be small but the added rake and the propping of games would def. help the site. Also thinking the long game, these players from out of State would get a jump start on the UP product for when it becomes legalized in their State.

Regarding the new Big 10 tournament series starting the 13th in NJ....

First of all... why haven't you guys mentioned it here?

Secondly, I like the idea and I know you're trying to get rebuys and addons, but depending on the structure, the starting stack looks way too small.

Big 10 tournament series has a small starting stack to encourage rebuys. Another promo will start on July 14th that will have huge value for NJ players.

Are we able to use $U for rebuys/addons in the series?

Yes, good luck.

I like the new tournament series coming up. I left money on UP just in case something like this came up. My only problem is they are all rebuys. Also, its called the Big 10. The biggest prize pool is $2,000. There's nothing big about this series.

I would expect major overlays for NJ with small ones for NV.

Even if there aren't major overlays in NJ, the leader board makes it valuable. I also love that the series starts the day after rakeback payouts are made.

First off... My bad in the previous post, tourneys start tomorrow (Sunday) and I believe the rakeback payout is Wednesday...

Secondly, I just received an email for the "Triple Play" promotion (details here... http://ultimatepoker.com/promotions/...-online-poker/ ) and I have a question about the raked hands part of it. Do you just have to contribute to a raked pot for it to count or do you have to win 100 raked hands. I believe it's just contribute to the pot, but I want to certain because I know you only get points for hands you win.

Do HU STT's count for winning an STT?

Dealt into a hand where rake is taken counts. There will be 2 marked cash games + 2 SNGs.

Registered for the PLO, I sure hope we hit the 9 man minimum...

There are currently 5 entries for a $10 buy in with rebuys and addons. There is a $1k guarantee. It starts at 3:30. It needs 9 to start. Assuming 1 rebuy and 1 add on per person it will need 34 people for there to not be an overlay. There's almost no way it gets to 34. You will also earn points for the overall series bonus. It's free money.

Not only that, but Pipes is dead money. :-)
