plo8 cash [NV] plo8 cash [NV]

There's a small but loyal following of the UP 50c/1.00 plo8 cash games, but it's struggling. I'd really rather it didn't migrate to WSOP because their customer support, loyalty program, blah blah awful, so...

Currently the only plo8 level below this is 5c/10c which is a helluva jump for the entry-level players to make if they're going to join the player pool at 50c/1. I think of it like a salmon trying to get upstream. It should be encouraged. But would adding a bridge level of 10c/25c (like UP has for PLO) build plo8 interest at UP or only serve to dilute the 50c/dollar game?

I think UP would be trading the 50/1.00 game which it currently has for a .10/.25 game. The good news is that the .10/.25 game would run more consistently and draw a mix from the .05/.10 players and the .50/1.00 players which would likely create a much better game than the .50/1.00

I completely agree with this suggestion. I also think adding a FLO8 limit game in the $.50/$1 or $1/$2 range might draw some action. The gap between the existing offerings is wide there too.

As someone who played a lot of the .05/.10 PLO8 pool at LHE, I think it's highly doubtful they'd move up to something like .10/.25. Most of the people playing there showed no desire to consistently move above .10/.20 LHE (almost all of their shots failed, as well), and I don't think a lot of them could handle the swings of higher stakes at PLO8, even at what seems to not be much of a jump.

I tried to get micro FL08 games going for awhile, but nothing really ever ran more than 3 handed, and most of the time it was heads up. Even when I think .25/.50 FLO8 ran (the game that actually went almost reliably for about 2 or 3 weeks shortly after it launched), it didn't last long due to the variance that killed a lot of the pool (I got shredded a bunch there having made big hands die, and having tons of second nut hands lose, and I saw other people just going through money like it was water there). And that was back when we could still get a fairly reliable .25/.50 LHE game, something that doesn't happen anymore, mostly because the few people who were willing to play it are now just playing the micro Omaha variants. Very few of those people would last long at even slightly higher stakes than what they're playing, in my opinion.

I just want to get LHE running consistently again on the site. It sucks how it died, when it used to always run after 2pm until at least midnight every day.

How many players currently in your opinion would want to play LHE if there was a game running? Do you feel it's just a case of 7 players who would play but because a game hasn't started they play other games or do you think they wouldn't return regardless of a game being offered.

The player pool at LHE is almost non-existent now. Nearly everyone who does play is "old school", meaning that they were there at launch. We've run a few tables full, but they never last longer than an hour. The busiest it's been in the last several months was when Lauren Kling used to sit with me when I was game starting. She would play every table I was on, and sometimes that would make other players sit in, but not at all tables. Back in the day, there was always a minimum of one .05/.10, one .10/.20, and one .25/.50 table running from 2pm to midnight, and they were always full (I tried really hard to make .50/1 viable, but it never ever took in a consistent way, and I stopped playing it when I was constantly getting hit and run heads up with people wanting to play 10 hands...same with 1/2 when it was barely viable).

When games run 4+ handed, it's usually featuring 3 old regs, and 1 person we haven't seen before, or who rarely plays. There are definitely a few players who wait for games to get 3 handed minimum to play, but for the most part, the same people are playing different games, most likely just because they run more often, and they lose less, or even win sometimes. Or maybe they were only playing LHE until Omaha was offered. I pulled most of my bankroll off of there several months ago, because I didn't think there would ever be .50/1 games again (will sit, if it runs), and I'm skeptical that there will ever be a .25/.50 game in any consistent way again. Typically, when LHE runs, it runs at .05/.10, .10/.20, .50/1 and 5/10. It's been pretty rare to see games run more than 4 handed, but it happens occasionally. When I have time, I usually open up 3 tables, and wait for people to sit. The last few times I've done that, no one has sat. How I helped "build" it at start was that I would play .05/.10 until I had enough bankroll to move up. It would be the only game that ran at the start. Once I moved to .10/.20, everyone followed. Once I moved up to .25/.50, everyone followed again. When I had enough to move up to .50/1 no one followed...lol, and I had to stay mostly at .25/.50 except when the .50/1 would occasionally run. I'm trying to do something similar now (starting the lowest stakes), but it just doesn't happen anymore.

So, long story short is that I think it's pretty likely LHE is dead on UP (despite being great until maybe last October or November), and it never even got started at wsop. I want it to come back, and am not giving up on it. Some good promos would probably help to encourage play at LHE. As for actual number of players in the lower stakes LHE, I doubt the player pool is higher than 10 right now, when at its best it was probably around 50 or so (at least 10 would be willing to multi-table when they were around, which made for a healthy pool).

Props to Lauren for helping, but even she stopped, though I haven't had time to be around much lately.

i'll be starting 5/T and 2/4 lhe most days around afternoon to late in NV all month long.

You'll get some action at 5/10, but none at 2/4 other than sporadic heads up play, and it probably would be sporadic heads up play at 5/10 as well.

The last 3 times I tried to play, I opened up 3 micro tables at LHE, sat for an hour waiting each time (during prime times), and no one sat. The only time I've been able to get any games in the last few months has been between 9 and midnight.

Not true. A few days ago I got HU 2/4 alongside 4 handed 2/4.

Just today we got a full 9man table at .10/.20 for 3 or so hours. Then a .25/.50 has been running ~5 handed for the past 4 hours. All it would take is just a few dedicated table starters and .5/.10-.5/1 could be regular games.

2/4 and 5/T will remain just HU and short action most of the time. Although if the micro base builds some players may eventually start playing the 2/4 imo.

Out of curiosity who were the players at 2/4?

Lets go on Borgata
