I very much share your opinion, and whenever the product development team asks my opinion on this topic, this is the idea I express.
However the cool thing about the next (major) version of the software that they are working on is that it is essentially "platform agnostic". My understanding is that it will be one version of the software across multiple platforms (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc.). So once a fix or a feature is implemented in that version, that fix/feature would be available across all versions with minimal effort. That's what they're aiming for and I think that makes a lot of sense. But yes, we are definitely not sacrificing those much-needed fixes to our Windows client in order to support other platforms.
