Decrement. All other sites who use that feature have it set up this way.

Yeah. I've always been an "invert mousewheel" person, though. I just don't particularly like mouse-up, and I'm never lowering my bet, just donking on ahead like the lagtard I am.

It should be easy to just let your players decide how the mouse wheel functions in a settings menu.

In the same settings menu, we should be able to decide to not have any pop-up tournament announcements.

Oh-- we could also decide to mute all chat sounds. Selectively enable the sounds we would like to hear.

To avoid carpal syndrome, I like to move the wheel without bending my fingers or thumb.

If you scroll the wheel using your finger by moving your entire hand, then the "away from you" motion works much better.

"Toward you" causes the mouse to move, not so much the wheel.

"Away from you" causes the wheel to move and the mouse stays still just like you want it to.

This should be really easy to just have an 'invert mouse wheel' checkbox in the settings, no?

This mouse wheel question from Dax is a perfect example of what is wrong with the software development at UP.

UP has people sitting around thinking about which way they think is the best way to do things, rather than people thinking about how to give their players the option to choose which way they would prefer to do things.

The fonts. The sounds. The card-back fiasco. The pop-ups. What else? All these things could be easily solved if UP just had a settings menu that let their players choose what they wanted.

I don't understand why UP chooses to do things this way.

98% of fish probably keep whatever the default setting is. You can even see from training videos that Sauce and Phil Galfond, who have been playing poker for many years, have the default seat position, default cards, default table theme, and default felt color. If a default setting turns off a fish they probably don't realize it can be changed and that could be a lost customer. It's important to get the default settings right.

You're right. It's important to get the default settings right. BUT default settings implies that there is another setting. You can't talk about default settings if there aren't other options.

Does UP really think that they should be making decisions for their players? They decided to change the way the software looked--- different fonts, different card-backs, etc. How did that work out? Was that a good idea? It took two months for us to be able to clearly see which players were in a hand again. They made a decision when they didn't need to--- they could have let their players choose between the new-look and the old, and it wouldn't have been difficult to do.

If UP chooses to develop BOTH options each time, eventually they will have a feature-rich piece of software. Is it really more difficult to have a checkbox selecting "invert mousewheel"?

There is no reason for UP to try to satisfy the majority, when they have the option to satisfy everybody (with very little added work).

If Dax was asking which should be the default setting (which wasn't at all clear), then that is great. Maybe UP is learning from its mistakes-- maybe they will finally give us the other options that are lacking (sound, visual, no pop-ups, etc.). But from Dax's post and UP's short history, it would be a big assumption to make.

Playing in the nightly 2500 just now, the turn card animation came down and then when it should've been shown on the board it just disappeared. The river card came down as normal but I had to play the hand without knowing the turn card.

This is 100% a memory issue and has happened to me on my system, and I have seen it happen to others as well. Minimizing the table window and re-sizing back to normal almost always solves the problem.

6max and FR plo8 games would be great. (from .01-.02 to 1-2)

Really hope your next update has a note taking system in it though.

There was an issue with our tournaments. Some tournaments were cancelled. Customer support is currently going through all instances of cancelled tournaments and crediting affected players. If you have any issues please contact customer support.

Don't really know where to post this one.

I picked up a small Asus T100 for school (but is convenient enough for single tabling).

I've been grinding hours at red rock for that freeroll in december, and brought the tablet along, connected to the free wifi in the room and noticed when I enter my email to login as a guest, ultimate pokers advertisement was there.

Funny thing is, I wanted to play some of the sunday tournament line ups while I was grinding the hours but was not able to connect to ultimate poker. I just wonder why advertise it on Red Rocks WiFi but not allow us to connect? I know it is due to it being public wifi, but is there an exception that can be added?

When I downloaded the NJ software it appears to have overwritten and/or deleted my NV software. My NV download no longer appears on my desktop ????

Wish List:

1) Fix the crashing. Can't count how many times I've been in the middle of an important hand and all of a sudden "Ultimate Poker has stopped working". Invariably it takes too long to log back on and my hand is either folded or checked down if I'm lucky.

2) Fix the disconnects - not the same thing as crashing, but similar effect... I'll be playing sometimes and boom, randomly I'm disconnected and removed from my seat at at least some of the tables I'm playing on, usually most.

3) 3/4 pot button please - customizable amounts would be even better.

4) Lobby filter

5) Customizable avatars would be nice

6) There is a bug when you turn off a players chat, you can still hear the chat 'ding' noise every time they type something. Very annoying for people when someone is abusing chat.

UP, like most poker clients, uses non-standard ports. By default, most public wifi doesnt let crap through on ports it doesnt recognize.

So the problem is with whoever runs RR's network, not UP.

Fix the XP meter for monthly and yearly. It does not show any increase in the bar. The status is tracked correctly but you cannot see how much to the next level.
