Would just like to start this thread to say thanks for all the effort that Scott Yeates, Terrence Chan, Chris Danek and Ultimate Ali put forth towards Ultimate Poker. Unfortunately the sink has sunk but I don't believe anyone on here thinks it's because of them.

Thanks a lot guys for all your efforts and for doing an outstanding job here on the forum. Gl to you all in the future.

The glory days were fun while they lasted, and props to Scott for sure.

I certainly am sad about UP throwing in the towel. Several people in the industry felt UP was finished when it left NJ. I thought that was an overreaction and felt they would hang on in NV and at least play wait-and-see for a year, even if they stopped software development and simply floated the NV operations. Clearly, the people that saw the writing on the wall were right and I was too optimistic.

I liked the idea of having two NV sites and the home grown feel that UP had wanted me to see the underdog succeed. They certainly had a lot of talent but it seems there were issues behind the scenes.

I met with the UP group a few times. I participated in the Two Street Hold'em experiment at their office where I got a nice souvenir for winning the most chips. I was on a panel with Chris and later on one with Scott at industry conventions. I enjoyed all interactions with the people at UP.

At the very least, this was a learning experience for the industry and I hope others were watching to see what UP did great and what contributed to the failure.

Best of luck to all involved with the company.

Hey PokerAddict.

In your opinion is there any likelihood that WSOP will go under as well?

Not sure why im giving a serious response to someone who just trolls.

Wsop will remain open until they realize they cant expand to other markets. If california doesn't hit the books next year I would not be surprised if wsop left the market as well

Hey is the VIP store shut down for anybody else? Nothing but brand products. Cash credits done?

WSOP now has a virtual monopoly in a state that will do about $10m a year in rake. They also make about $15m a year in NJ (hard to pinpoint because 888 reports on same license). Considering they have a royalty agreement as opposed to software development costs, and the product compliments its live poker rooms and tournaments, I think WSOP is in no risk of following suit.

Another way to look at this is that their software partner (888) is operating at a total loss in Delaware. Its DE revenue is $0 because the tax rate is 100%. I think 888 continues to operate at a loss happily there in the hopes of winning other lottery contracts. On the near 0% chance WSOP decides to give up, I think you would see 888 takeover.

Appreciate all of this knowledge man. I assumed they wouldn't want to pull out of a market they have a monopoly over. Thank you for the response, I hope there are positive days ahead for NV ipoker!!

Really?

Thanks to everyone who supported us, and even our critics as well. Wish we could've done better for you; we really felt the poker community was in our corner and cheering for us to succeed.

Truly I wish the poker community did more for YOU. Other than a moderate adjustment to the gaming selections I don't think UP could have done anything else, sporting the greatest customer service the US has seen since PS and right there on par as the best there has ever been. I am genuinely shocked more interest and support wasn't there from the Nevada community. I also being an east coast guy am ASHAMED by New Jersey and their decision to not link up when they could have. This is a shame but I think Station is the last to blame. Thank you TCHAN and thank you Scotty, Ali, Jake C, Ian Wilder and everyone else I had the pleasure of dealing with. Cheers.
