Hey everyone,
I'm looking to start a little blog to keep track of my pursuits in online (and eventually offline) poker. I'd like to start off by apologising if the title of the blog goes over the head of any non-UK readers but I thought it was quite punny (google it if you desire). I'll probably be looking to post on here around once a week, but that could swing up or down depending on whether I have anything worth updating you about.
So anyway, I've been playing online poker, predominantly NLHE, on and off for about 2 years now. However around two months ago I decided it was time to step it up a notch and really attempt to learn the intricacies of the game and try to build myself a serious bank roll. So I made what is hopefully my final deposit and started with a roll of around $100, which with the aid of first deposit bonuses, the recent freeroll festival on FTP and some $ made on the grind thrown in for good measure I worked my way up to ~$500 and withdrew $100 to purchase Pokertracker after my initial trial ran out.
My style is reasonably tight aggressive but I enjoy practicing looser styles and more creative lines which I'll hopefully build on with experience and knowledge of what works and what doesn't. So, at the moment I mainly play $10nl 6-max cash games, playing around 5k hands p/w, as well as the occasional low stakes MTT. Once my Pokertracker is up and running again I will let you know some of my general stats including bb/100 in the cash games and ROI for MTT's just so you can get an idea of how I'm faring at my current stakes and whether you feel I'm ready to take a shot at my next level ($25nl on FTP, as there isn't a $16nl option) when I have the bank roll to fund it.
This blog is really just to give me something to look back on in the future and hopefully think about what a fish I was back then. Also I'll be posting any particular hands that I find interesting that I might want your opinions on as well as any general advice you have on improving my game or online experience on the whole.
If anyone has any questions they'd like answering or any comments then they are more than welcome to post below and I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP.
Thanks for reading,
McToady
