London-NY-back London round trip is in top 10 most boring things I survived. Should have brought some sleeping pills and drink two glasses of wine with them.

Jesus. Big work blow up.

Someone is either get fired or my whole division is looking for a new home again. Which is good and bad, but definitely a pay raise if we move.

This is unacceptable. You were alive when the original trilogy was released. And you're male. Wtf

I've seem the original 3 and most of the first one in the pretenders series. Tried to watch the newest ones with the wife and kids, and they are not wired that way.
Maybe I'll find the prequels and watch them, get caught up, then see the new one (by myself).

Downloading Better Call Saul now.

Finished Breaking Bad, finally.

It took way longer to finish the final season than I like to admit. It was really good. Ending pretty much went the way that I expected. All in all, one of the best series that I've seen in a while.

On the same note, pretty infuriating that Walter is such a complete asshat when it came to Jesse. Just kill him or let him get killed. Collect your millions upon millions, since that's what he was about. But noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, let's ruin ****.

Better call Saul is way different, but entertaining.

Watched "The Big Short" with the wife last night. Ready good movie about the housing market crash in 08. It's absolutely terrifying how corrupt and fraudulent the banks are: assuming this movie is true. And then, it's scary that it could happen again.

I definitely recommend this movie: it's a drama with quite a bit of comedy. Lot of big names in it, also.

I'm telling you, man. He would have died a long long time ago. Walt was making a **** ton of money in Fring's lab. He had complete liberty to do whatever, no law enforcement issues, but no: he had to protect his ******.

How about when he let "Jessica Jones" die?
And Marie?
And Skylar?

What about them?
Jessica Jones dying didn't matter. Jesse would have killed himself or gotten killed before or after that happened.
Marie, non-issue.
Skylar, non-issue.

He wouldn't have gotten Skylar involved if certain other things didn't happen.
Marie was iffy, because of Hank. Hank wouldn't have many suspicions if Walt wasn't so weird and jumpy. He wouldn't have been jumpy at all, if he wasn't doing crap to save Jesse.
Like, he was making what X mil over 3 months in the beginning with Fring? He got Gabe or whatever Boddecher, fired to get Jesse in there. It went downhill from there.

I dunno, maybe I'm mis-remembering Season 3-4 a little.

I got the poker itch last night.

There's a local card room that I play at around here. I went with the intention of playing cash and not the tournament that they have, because I don't care for the structure.

Game is a 1/2/5 game that gets pretty deep and plays pretty big normally. Usually, 2 tables going. The tournament is usually 3 tables on Wednesdays.

Well tonight, it was a little slow and they were 7 handed and there was about 15 people for the tourney.

I sit for cash. First hand: I have AT suited. I'm late position. Folded to me, I raise to 15, since I'm not sure how people are raising in this game, yet. I get a call from both blinds. Flop is T-T-2 2 clubs. I'm digging it. SB bets 30, BB raises to 100. I think for a few seconds and I call. Thinking is: a flush draw and someone may have the other T. SB shoves BB tanks and folds. I'm not thinking about pocket 2's or T/2 here, so I call.
Guy shows A/4 clubs. Rivers the flush. First hand of the night: -500 Good start

Reload.

Hands are played, win/lose whatever. I get down to about 350-380 in chips. Tournament starts, 4 people from the table leave for it. Leaving us 4 handed.. so, I decided to play the tournament for a slight chance to get some of the money back that I was down.

Everyone asked if we could make it for $100 instead of $80. Everyone agrees. It's now a $100 tournament with a $10 dealer toke.

Blinds 25/50
First hand - BB of 6/8 suited. 1 raise to 125. 2 calls. I call.
Flop 6-6-4 2 hearts.
I bet 250. Original better raises to 700. Folds to me. I raise to 1500. He thinks for about .0000000000001 seconds and shoves. (this is the resident gambler/donkey/bad player, regularly stuck for a few thousand a night when I play) I snap call. A/2 hearts. Hits flush on river. Pretty cool to be stacked on my first hand again and with the trips vs A-bad kicker flush draw.

This was a re-entry tournament, so I got back in. It can't happen like that again. It didn't. I didn't change my play. I didn't bluff much, due to the calling stations. When I hit, I got paid. I made generally good decisions. Got to the final 5 people, I had about 70k in chips, everyone else was <20k. Blinds were 500/1000.

Got 4 handed, one of the guys wanted to guarantee our money back, but I needed to take first to break even for the night, so I refused. That guy was knocked out next and he was upset.

3 handed - I'm at 62k now, another guy is at 40k and another guy at 30k.
Prize pool was X. They asked for everyone to get $350 each. Leave $40 for the dealer, and we play for the final $350. Stacks are close and with the blinds/stack sizes, there wasn't much after the flop play. I agreed.

I took half the stack of someone, and then he got knocked out.
Got HU, guy wanted to chop the $350. I declined. He kind of looked butthurt.

I knocked him out 77 vs Q8. Won a race.

$700 to me. Profited $480. from it, not a bad payday for 3 hours.

So, I settled up my finances: -160 on the night after tipping the dealers. Not a bad night, but not good for my wallet. Was fun though.

Additional hand:
I got into another hand with the guy who stacked me on the first hand of the tourney.
I flopped trips again. He goes all in on the turn drawing dead. Good feels. took 3/4's of his stack. I busted him later on.

I guess, on an unrelated note to that story above:

With work/wife/finances: I don't like to play a ton of poker, like I used to. I don't like to have the chance to lose a good chunk of money when I know that it could be put to use in better places. So, as a result, I play like once or twice every few months.

I used to play online for a living, and then I played live cash and MTT's for a while for a living. I think my poker skills are still decently sharp, but my discipline took a hit. In my head, I know I should be folding/calling/raising in some situations, but I don't go with it. So in saying that: after thinking about my decisions - I followed my initial thought process about 90% of the time. Whenever, I went against my initial line of thinking, it was the correct decision the majority of the time. I can only recall 2 or 3 hands where it was a total misplay/bad line, but I had folded already, so it didn't affect me.

I guess, what I'm saying is: I enjoyed that I was making the right decisions.

On a different note - the players were not good. So, it could have just been them being terrible and easy to read. I never actually felt challenged or that anyone at the table was a threat or tricky player.
