TV Update

Recently Finished:

Sneaky Pete - I'm a sucker for movies/TV about con-artists, so I enjoyed this one, nothing ground-breaking, but an entertaining watch, although I will say Cranston's performance was startlingly bad, not sure if he just didn't fit the role or decided to mail it in. Giovanni Ribisi on the other hand, was great.

24 Legacy - Plenty of eye roll moments and repetitive plot lines, but I still enjoyed spending 12 weeks in the 24 World again.

Girls S6 - Solid final season, loved the 1st 4 episodes and the penultimate. I've had an up and down relationship with the show over the years, but overall it was an always interesting, often entertaining and usually funny experience with plenty of memorable characters.

The Walking Dead S7 - Blah, this show has become a chore to continue watching over the last couple seasons, although something keeps me coming back.

Bates Motel S5 - Decent final season, really enjoyed all the interactions outside of the Norma/Norman scenes which got old pretty quick IMO.

Catching up on Gladwell's Revisionist History Podcast while traveling today, just like everything he does, it's absolutely fascinating, definitely a must listen if you haven't already.

Great to see your progress and determination! I also struggle with the training/exercise despite not having a very busy schedule at times. Keep up the motivation however possible and know it will benefit you greatly in the long run.

Also wanted to add that since you mentioned visiting Colorado and enjoyed it that the Colfax Marathon in Denver sounds like it would be a breeze for you to complete. No real hills and plenty of shaded sections. If ever you get the chance or have the desire to run another one that would be a great choice. Best of luck going forward!

Thanks for the Denver marathon suggestion also, I'll have to look into it. I'm planning to take another crack at one in 2018, once I get the CPA exam behind me.

I don't post about poker often because I probably play once every other month at most these days, but I have to brag about last night's session.

8 PM - 7 AM 1-2 NL at one of the semi-local casinos. Bought in for $200 and cashed out for $1900. Obviously I'm an amazing player, j/k of course. Ran very well and got full value with some big hands.

Anyway it was a fun break from the work and study grind and added a little bit to our savings to put down on our next house. We're looking at buying or building in the next year or so, but we're not pulling the trigger until we can put at least 20% down. Mortgage Insurance is no fun.
