I will, I promise! I think about writing in this blog all the time I am just so busy all the time. Then when I do have time I just don't know where to start writing. I have been living the island life a few days out of the week, plus I just started working on a small organic vegetable farm 3 days a week to supplument my poker income.

I will be back to continue adding to this blog, I just can't promise when.

Ok everyone I have decided to turn this into a video blog. I will be making a new entry every few days or so. I know it won't be the same as writing, but I think it will be easier for me to commit to a 5 min video every few days rather than trying to make myself write for an hour.

I am a little uncomfortable in the video and I am not exactly the most eloquent speaker, but after I do this a few times I am pretty sure I will get better at it. I will be posting new entries here.

Thanks for all the support everyone!

Really enjoyed your vlog - you're actually a natural in front of a camera.

Love the depth of your love for your wee dog.

Good luck to you.

+1 to you not seeming uncomfortable in front of the camera. Maybe you feel that way but it doesn't show much. You just seem laid back.

Another +1 to your dog. Super cute guy. Do you think having him around will help you make the island life "stick" in terms of companionship or whether you were on the island or not do you think having him would kind of be the same for you.

He might really enjoy being on an island. All the dogs I know spend all day long looking out of windows and being on an island is basically one infinite window!

I'm not really sure what you mean.

I mean that having a dog is great companionship. The lifestyle you're trying to live is quite isolating relative to most people. I'm curious if you think having a dog is even more beneficial given your lifestyle vs a more traditional one or not.

Oh for sure. I really like being isolated but sometimes it does get lonely. Having him makes me almost never feel lonely.

nice little update. keepem comin.

Also instead of thinking about it as an update for us, might make yourself a little more comfortable thinking of it as more of a diary kind of thing.

I was going to make another today but the games were good so I spent more time grinding than I planned. I really like that advice about making it like a diary, treat it as if I am talking to myself.

Here's another video for everyone. I haven't shaved in a little bit so I am looking pretty crusty. I guess that's just how island life goes...

Nice update IG, I would be pretty uneasy handling lobsters like that. Can those claws do some damage to a finger, you didn't look too worried?

I'm not scared of bugs. You just have to be quicker than the lobster. The 2 males with bright claws were shedders and they aren't very strong right after they shed so they can't really do much damage. You don't want to get pinched, but if you do it wouldn't be bad.

The big female was and old shell though and those are much stronger. That's why underneath her claws were all black, because she has been carrying that shell around for a year now and she is full of meat(muscle) with a strong hard shell to go with it. They have a pincher claw and a crusher claw. The pincher is the thinner one and it definitely hurts if you get pinched, but it's tolerable. The crusher claw on the other hand could break a glass beer bottle. I have been pinched by those things so many times now that I am used to it.

If and when one of those big black old shell lobsters does get ahold of your hand, don't panic. If you try to pull your hand out or shake the lobster they just squeeze down harder because they are scared. Some people break the claw off, but I have never done that because I'm not a pussy. The trick is to grab the other claw and squeeze it shut. By squeezing their free claw shut they should (but not always) let go of your hand to attack the hand that is holding their claw shut. If that doesn't work then hopefully you have a friend next to you to pry the claw open enough to slide your fingers out.

Lol. You have to let me know how the bird fishes. Why don't you catch some mackerel and use that?

I got bit by a jumbo last month by the pincher. Peeled the skin off a couple of my fingers slinging the bitch to the deck. Glad it wasn't the crusher, probably would have broke my fingers.

Hey everyone! Just made another video. I would definitely like some honest feedback from everyone. I am doing this for me, but if there is anything that I can do, or do differently that would make it more enjoyable to watch I would really appreciate the feedback.

Also wanted to share this song. It really pumps me up.
