Hi I'm Baudib1.

I don't know how often I'll be updating this but I figure this is as good a place as any to chronicle my weird life. Maybe it'll be a cautionary tale for wannabe grinders!

My story AORN: I'm a middle-age dude who's never really grown up, despite working a respectable high-paying job for many years. Some of you may know that I worked as a high-level editor at the New York Daily News. I was able to reach this level despite never graduating from college and never really having a full time job until I was 28.

After 11 often frustrating years, I decided to take a voluntary buyout from the News. Things have been going downhill at work in many ways, and frankly the future of the industry isn't great. It seemed like the right time to go.

Right now, I'm considering myself retired. I'm still collecting severance checks and will be for several months, and I'm grinding live cash and tournaments pretty hard in Atlantic City and in Brooklyn.

I suspect I'll have to find a real job at some point, but we'll see how that goes.

Right now, I'm living the dream/nightmare.

What's up, Bigger?

Next week I'll be in Vegas for the Rio Circuit, hope to ship lots of monies. It'll be the first time I'm in Vegas outside of the WSOP, should be interesting -- I'd like to move out there eventually.

I finally got back to playing online, it had been a while. I grinded Full Tilt pretty hard back in the day, but after the Lock fiasco I had been mostly concentrating on live, just dabbling here and there on WSOP.com

I started with $0 and ran it up to $620 in four days on BorgataPoker.com, so that's cool. It's mostly something to do while sitting in my hotel room.

I made the $325 Ace-high river call in a live 2/5 game today, which is probably the most I've called correctly without a pair.

3 limps and I make it $35 on BTN with AdJc, limpets call.

Flop is QsTh6d, checks around and I check.

Turn is 8s, 2 checks and CO is this crazy old Armenian guy who I've been bluffcatching all night. (I doubled him up with AJ when he jammed 55 on A64 flop - turn and river are 8 7. I called him successfully with Q7dd on river on Ad5dJs 2s Qc board for $250 and T9o on QT8cc 5d 2h for $200.)

He bets $145 I call and 2 folds.

River is Qh he bets $325, I check to make sure I don't have the Js (i might have folded if I did), I call and he shows 43o.

He accuses me of cheating and looking at his cards.

My Tuesday:

I busted tourney on Monday so had nothing to do. Had scheduled a coaching session but it got canceled. I fell asleep in the afternoon and woke up at 9 p.m. Went to karaoke with a group of poker players, it was a blast, great group and we had amazing fun.

Started a cash session at 2 a.m. at Aria. Won a 4-way all-in for 550 BB pot at $2/$5 as I called with KJss on KdJd2c (total monkey PFR bet $30 into $75, I make it $95, 1 flat behind, old man in BB shoves, PFR shoves, I call, guy behind me calls. They have: 98dd, A2dd, QJdd and I hold/boat up.)

The 4-way all in kinda ruins the game so I leave an hour later to go to Bellagio. I sit at a 1/3 game, double up first hand while bluff catching this chatty old Asian guy with K8o on KJ5 6 9 (he shows the Js after I call the river). Stack him again 2 hands later, AQhh on Qd 6c 3c Th. Win a few more hands and seat opens at $2/$5, the chatty Asian guy moved there, I have up and down game but finish up $340 after stacking a guy who limped AA with top set.

Finish my session at 9 a.m. +2700, so a decent day at work.

Gonna nap and play the PLO circuit event at Rio.

Busted two bullets in PLO $365 pretty quickly and in non interesting fashion.

Played the miniature golf at Rio and did so poorly that I "won" a free ticket to come back and practice.

I booked wins in 2 casinos for the 2nd straight night.

I was in the 2/3 at Rio for 1400 and won a big pot with AA va this kid who seemed to hate my face -- he 3-bet me twice early in session and I later ran down some of his big pairs with stupid hands. I think he cold called my 3-bet vs EP opener with 76 and hit a pair and bluff jammed when he turned an OESD.

Then I went to Aria and had a bad 2/5 session going (made a ridiculously call off) before going on a massive heater where I basically had the nuts like 6 times in a half hour.

Good luck man and subbed. I think we've played together in BK (at racist Matt's game and Vandelay).
