So excited to finally see a female TR!

Have you seen the "improve the world" thread by pure aggression? Serving others may help with the balance you are looking for. It would probably also dramatically increase attendance.

Good luck to you! You are stronger than you know.

Sorry, but you're not a pro blackjack and sprots bettor. I forgot to mention that in my first post. Guaranteed disaster. Many a poker player has been completely derailed by such things, myself included.

Yea, I'm sure I'm headed straight towards despair and despondency. I can't imagine what I'll do. I'm sure you would agree that my only option would be to give up and settle into conformity, an am I right? I mean, who would want to try to do something awesome with their life in order to die knowing that they lived.

I totally get what you're saying

The fact that nobody else mentioned what is in my post above is absurd. If OP were a male that had written the same stuff, all of the responses would be a 180.

All that being said, I hope you enjoy yourself, which is all that matters. But don't expect to be a pro gambler/baller.

.
I did that like two weeks ago and got pretty much what you're talking about (check pg 2). Some people did wish me some rungood and I will be updating my thread starting next weekend. I never had the opiate issues (but did a ton of blow/drinking/degening between 25-29). But being a fellow Maryland transplant to Vegas I'm wishing OP rungood.

Funny how so many people from MD make it to Vegas eventually.

Thank you! I'll have to sweat your updates too then

Maybe there is a reason? Like Baltimore might bread bomb poker players

Subbed.

You have a unique voice; which is to say that while your story is familiar to me, your self-expression and perspective/self-understanding looks to be very sharp and developed. There's a maturity to your writing and an honesty that doesn't come often from someone who's walked your path.

That said, your development as a person (and a writer) must be an evolving process. Know that as far as you've come in so many ways, there is no finish line to self-development and you can always do better and accomplish more for yourself and your own success.

My family is from Vegas, my Mom is born and raised, my Grandfather's name was on the Marquees of Boulder Highway and Downtown - I only share that so you understand that I'm speaking from a perspective of great history:

There are many, many honest and good people to meet in Las Vegas; you've already met a quality one in Tim and there are others all over this site who will be happy to meet and chat over coffee/lunch and can be valuable resources for questions and issues that arise while you are in town - take full advantage of those resources and use the networking with good people to meet other good locals.

On the flip side of that are 1001 different types of grifters, scammers, hustlers, ne'er-do-wells, addicts (gambling, substance and otherwise), hidden escorts, hoes and pimps, hidden drug dealers, dangerous/abusive Men who may try to "date" (read: use) you and a host of other people who have absolutely no intention of doing anything good or positive for you whatsoever.

Don't be paranoid of these people, but be hyper aware of them and use your own people reading skills and instincts to avoid them however possible.

I wish you best of luck in your journey, I'm here if you have any specific questions you want to ask or bounce off me - use as many people as possible to gather information - I'm interested to see where your road takes you as you share the story.

Good Luck OP, as others have mentioned, you do write very well, and seem to be wise beyond your years. I hope you take the very good advice you are receiving on here, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck.

Two requests..

2. As a trooper follower, keep on him about letting you get on one of his VLOGS!!

Obv. But good luck with your $15 hourly when you've lost all your money playing blackjack and betting sports.

Point is, smart people who are good with words are huge failures if they're making $15/hr. I make more than that and AM a huge failure.

Have to ask, what's the situation as far as $/bankroll since you mentioned you don't have another income and you like to gambol sometimes?

There's a difference between not settling into conformity, and giving yourself a real chance to succeed.

What are you doing in life that makes you feel like a huge failure???

If you're basing your life as a success or failure solely on how much income you bring home then: 1. I feel really bad for you as a person. 2. I know everything I need to know about you and don't need to interact with you going forward. 3. She should take some of your advice but you're no one she should try to become.

Best advice anyone could give you.

1. Get out of Vegas.
2. Join AA & GA 12 step programs
3. Work towards your GED and then college.
4. Make friends outside of Poker & Gambling.
5. Save money each month with a savings account.
6. Learn from Brandi ... don't be next.

Assuming she's considered all these things and decided to push forward anyway - let's try our best to help give her further advice so as to not end up like #6 - don't ya think? Or are we going to just pound our point of view forward?

Don't listen to this guy.

Do what you love, have a dream. If you want something, go and get it! But you need to have a plan B, take the GED, and possibly college, but don't give up on poker so easily.

Also I don't know your skills in poker, you need to know very well if you're playing good or bad. Don't be a fool thinking you are a good player when you're actually not.

"Poker is a like sex, everybody thinks they are better than they actually are."

PS. Sorry if I made any english mistake, it's my primary language.

As an objective reader (believe what you want) I think the Brandi references are quite morbid and uncalled for. Especially this one.

I wish you good luck but it is so interesting to see how different a response you get being a female vs a male in these forums. It's nothing against you, it's the people that are replying.

Good luck bro...I mean, bro-ette?
