You're pretty much an indispensible witness, so it's likely very hard to get a conviction without you present.

Did you shoot the video? If so, you would need to be there to even authenticate the contents so it is allowed to be shown in Court.

Do you know if they dismissed it with or without prejudice? If without, it means he could still be tried for the same offense.

The video would have been security footage from Palms Place. He ran from his room after I walked out to leave and shoved my suitcase into me in the hallway. My ribs smashed into the trash can that was next to the elevator, and my thigh hit the doorway of the elevator. He went back into the room as I struggled to hit the elevator call button, then crawled into the elevator and took it down to the lobby. I couldn't stand, so I was quite hysterical as I struggled to get to the outside of the building. I vaguely remember telling security what happened, then they asked if I needed an ambulance, to which I told them I didn't know but I couldn't walk. When the ambulance came they put me in the stretcher and I can't remember much else aside from wanting to press charges, giving a written police statement and watching them arrest him after saying that it was on the security tape.

I'm not sure exactly what happened with the case, I've been trying to get ahold of the district attorney the last few days. I found out it was dismissed by looking it up online earlier...

The Rays play their home games in St. Pete tho. Was just a silly nitpick.

There should be more information regarding the type of dismissal available online.

Did they go over testimony with you & such before hand? The evidence? Seems weird to dismiss instead of rescheduling to a date you were available if they knew in advance.

Well I actually live in Tallahassee in Northern Florida, so I've only played in Gretna and Best Bet over in Jacksonville

At the moment I'm still keeping out of casinos since I'm working on sobriety, don't want to put myself in a situation where I might feel like drinking, I've managed to keep the urges at bay for the most part

Are those rooms good? Personally I love Gretna even though it's small it's full of the best fish and whales

Hopefully it's without prejudice then. Statute of Limitations shouldn't be an issue yet, so they would probably only dismiss with prejudice if they thought the case was weak.

Could always try to do something civil. No idea if you'd have a case, but those people do free consultations & work on contingency, so they'd be straight with you if you did or not real quick.

Well, I play low stakes. Hard rock is pretty big. Lots of old nitty guys at 1/2. But also a lot of tourists that only have a couple of hours so they spew and leave. Sort of a crap shoot on tables. 1/3 at derby is a lot looser. It's sort of a dumpy place but I like it.

Hard rock has a 5/5 plo game that seems to always be going. I've railed it a few times. It's pretty juicy. There might be one at derby but I haven't seen it.

So I've prayed about my anger and resentment.

I may have been caused immeasurable amounts of pain, and may feel jaded because there is seemingly no justice served. Yet, I've come to understand that in a way there has been.

I have been given the opportunity to make a better life for myself.

Over the years I have had a lot of pain, have suffered indignities and self delusion. I have felt the need to run from all fear, and had come to fear most everything. For the first time in my life, I don't feel the need to suffer anymore. I know I don't deserve the life I have been given, nor the chance to change that, but I have it all the same.

There is something to be said about fairness, and that is that our understanding of it is finite.

What we perceive as fair and just is only what we have come to believe as fair, so not necessarily true fairness. That is not our ruling to make.

It is so frustrating when things don't go my way, and this frustration breeds numerous resentments. These resentments only ever cause suffering of self and, furthermore, it will make no difference in the lives of those who have caused me harm.

I believe that I am on the way to having more than I ever thought possible, and for that reason I must move on from anger.

I've found that being productive is very helpful as well, since while I was drinking I didn't get much done.

Taking action towards changing the way I live has shown me that it's more possible than I realized to live a fulfilling life without the use of drugs and alcohol

There aren't cameras in hotel hallways. Usually there is a camera pointed at the elevator docks but that's it and they'd be facing the elevators.

Maybe I misheard the security guard. I was fairly certain there was a camera. It's a shame that he goes unpunished but I'm turning it over to my higher power. I no longer wish to dwell in the pain and suffering that man has caused me.

they got them in the hotel hallways in AC at both the Trop and the Taj. on every floor, walking down the hallways into the hotel rooms, including higher level floors, theres cameras for ur safety

Nice, that's pretty cool unless you're trying to smoke a joint in the hallway, I guess you could always hit the stairway or stay in your room but this happened in Vegas where they don't have cameras in the hallway.

I took no offense from what you said, I completely agree that the case was handled poorly and someone who I wish to be punished has not been.

This man is a poker player, one of which I have chosen to keep the identity of to myself and close friends who I have confided in.

In order to cure myself of the spiritual sickness that I have suffered from for many years I have made the decision to turn my life over to a higher power. This has been difficult, as I do feel very wronged.

I have learned that by taking matters into my own hands has not worked in the past, and it has only caused a greater suffering as the result of acting out of anger, fear, or malice. I wish very much to be free of the resentments that I have carried around for an overwhelmingly long time, and my desire for that freedom has relieved me of the desire for vindication in this matter.

I sincerely appreciate the support I have received from those who have shared in this thread, as well as those I have talked to personally. I do believe that without many of you, I would not be in the amazing place of peace that I am now.
