You say you're not getting into it, but you brought it up.

First of all, you binked the 9 legger? That's a nice score, so congrats.

Second, not going back and checking, but I had in mind the person you were living with was the dude who was going to help you with your poker game and back you. Either way, not great.

What do you mean its your fault your QQ got cracked? Your fault that you paid off the river, or some bull**** karma thing that the guy flopped a set in the first place? Because if its the latter, get that **** out of your head immediately.

GL and hope you pull thru the slump.
Life is about putting yourself in situations or places to succeed.

Doing things that will get you banned from casinos or depending on bad people financially to live with is going to get you nowhere.

Yes, a little more insight on the roommate encounter please. What caused the roommate to behave like that after you hit the parlay?

I never meant to give the impression that I was living with my backer/coach, at the time it was just a friend...

And lol I haven't paid anyone off on the river when I'm beat in a few weeks so I stopped doing that, so I guess I'm more so just getting frustrated a bit with variance.

I'm not getting into details because he reads this thread, and it may not be the best move... they say it happened differently and I deserved it so I'd like to leave that part alone and focus more on poker rather than the personal matters... I'd like to be able to feel comfortable posting here again after not wanting to update for the last few weeks....

I can assure you that I do not purposely put myself in bad situations. And I didn't even say anything about getting kicked out of casinos. ....??? Also I'm not depending on anyone to live... -___- seriously not even sure what you're responding to.

OP,

I was on your side and wishing you well from the beginning. However the last several weeks you're slipping... started with positive vibes and now full of negative energy. I really feel if you want anyone's real support here you have to be an open book... because at this pace it seems like you're on a slippery slope.

The areas that should be sending alarms in your head...

- getting banned from one of the larger poker rooms
- your roommate situation (whatever it may be)
- the negative way of thinking on the felt and away (bad beats, wsop, etc)

I could prob dissect a bit more, but it's your life... I was a fan that wanted to see you succeed and it is looking more like the naysayers might be correct.

Turn it around b4 its too late. You can still do this if you try.

If you literally haven't called a river bet with 2nd best in weeks, you're probably folding way too much.

The story isnt clear if she was being physical first and that the shove was in self defense. That's the problem with only telling a bit of the story... readers left to wonder and make assumptions.

You're right on so many levels. I needed this. I have been extremely negative and have been so caught up with feelings of failure that I've allowed it to effect my outlook on life, so I'm working to fix that...

Today I made a point to be positive, it has helped my mood immensely. I also watched the motivational video that was posted in this thread a few weeks ago again, and that made me reevaluate the way I've been behaving.

I have had to reevaluate many decisions I've been making in regards to my life, and one of those things have been the real reason I have been feeling down and out, which may be mostly because I've not been feeling well physically and that takes a toll on my emotional stability to a degree..

Honestly I'mrem still only human, so I'm still making mistakes.

There you go... get back to fighting shape mentally and physically! (Not literal fightimg ofc)

Best part about coming out the otherside from a mistake is to learn from it so not to repeat.

GL in the most non-white horse way :-p

I lived in LV for over 10 yrs and understand the issues and the mistakes that could be made (I made several).

Thank you

A big reason I don't want to tell the story is because the story doesn't matter as much as the lesson that I learned from it.

I've learned that if I keep doing the same thing by putting myself in these situations the same thing will keep happening and I'll keep winding up in situations that are not safe.

I've chosen to move on and accept that I made a mistake in judgment instead of choosing to be the victim, hoping that this is the change in perspective that I've needed and have been working towards.

Last night I sat down on the 1/3 in the pavilion with $300 at around 11:30pm. I was on a table that was pretty nitty so I immediately requested a table change to the most lively table. I was switched to a table that had a straddle every hand, and I chose to play a tighter game than usual. I got up around 3am and cashed out $269 after not really gaining any momentum before the games started breaking.

Decided to get some sleep, and I'm gonna be back at it again today

I'm feeling much better about life and poker, which I believe has a lot to do with being around my backer and his other props. They are a great group of positive winning players that have made me feel like part of the family and it's something I think is a positive in my life

Definitely feel like I'm moving in the right direction, with only a few speed bumps still in the way lol

So I've been putting in more hours in PLO and Big O rather than hold em and I'm enjoying poker a lot more. I really like the 1/2/5 games they have in the pavilion, been doing good in PLO but definitely think I'm falling short with the Big O. Not as confident betting draws and it's kind of really annoying to have to split a lot of pots lol

I'm not even going to attempt HH because I'll butcher it but any advice about these games would be appreciated, mostly advice on a solid Big O strategy. If anybody can send me in the direction of some reading material that would be awesome!

Glad to hear that you're doing well in some of the games and that you're focusing on maintaining positive energy.

Having said that, I'm a bit confused as to why you're not playing much hold em as the games seem to be off the hook out there (based off of TRs, blogs, etc). I may be in the minority, but I think you'd be best served focusing on crushing one game. Maybe that's Omaha for you, but I would guess that there's more tourist fish in hold em, especially at the low stakes.

Good luck either way.

You said that you were trespassed at the Venetian?

I was just saying like most people here start thinking about your actions.

Lol definitely think more tourist fish are in the Omaha games, and I feel like I just play better when playing PLO. The holdem crowd is hit or miss for the stakes I play (a lot of grinders in 1/3 NLH) and that makes my job a lot more difficult.

In the last few weeks my game selection has changed a lot since getting sick and not actually being able to focus as well as if I was at 100% with my health, I have found NLH to be less appealing because of this. I think I'm going to make the transition to playing PLO because I've been able to enjoy the game and also book winning sessions. I've been losing in NLH during this series, and it's probably because I started running bad and getting cracked so I'm just annoyed with it and chose to change games. ..

Because i know how to play but I need coaching to get better. I just want to study on my own as well.

Can't get better if I don't play, and needed to play with them so they knew where I'm falling short obviously.

If you don't have advice or anything constructive to say just keep it to yourself please. I don't care to deal with the bs anymore, that's why I stopped posting in the first place. Thanks

The results to follow up my last post was in for $500, 2 hours and out for $543, it was a little swingy but still managed to book a small win, I do have a couple notes on HH from the session just no time to post at this moment, will post them soon though.

I Sat in PLO again at about 4am and ran my KKQJss into AA2K and TTQ5 for a $1500 pot, TTQ5 flopped a set and other guy had me covered. rd bought for $300 after stepping away from the table for a few and come back to pick up AAK5cc and TTQ5 guy gets KKT9 and flats me when I repot pre, we get it in on the flop and he turns trip Tens LOL standard. I quit and went to sleep.

Sat in 1/3 NLH for 1.5 hours at like 6pm to take a break from PLO. In for $200, out for $624.

Get KQo in MP and limp, SB opens $15, I call & btn calls. Flop comes KQ2ss. SB leads for $25, I minraise to $50, btn folds and SB tanks while asking if I have KQ so I just keep saying "what?" He goes all in and we hold adding $100 to my stack.

I pick up a small pot with QQ and then open AQo in MP to $12, CO&BTN call, flop falls KQ8ddh, cc and btn opens for $30, I comment on her trying to steal the pot as I fold middle pair and the Ad. She shows JTdd and is like " I had the nuts with all those outs, I had flush and straight outs" so I was making fun of her as another lady sits down and comments on her nice bet :P I had been straddling so I did, new lady raised my straddle to $18 and I call with 77, flop falls 7JJ and she leads for $20, I raise to $65, she goes $150, I snap all in for $300ish total, she snap calls all in for $300 total and I flip 77s as she shows J9 or some **** lol so I just got up and cashed out.

I will be playing the Ladies Bracelet Event tomorrow and I'm feeling really good about it. I feel like my mental game is pretty good and I'm working on it every day. I also feel like taking a break from NLH to play PLO and Big O has helped with rebuilding my confidence so that I'm playing better while waiting for the rungood.

Life is looking good, everything is working out much better than expected so I'm super hopeful that I'll continue in a positive direction, like towards the bracelet!
