Yo

As you might have guessed, this blog is going to be mostly about me playing games.

I played countless hours in countless amount of games which makes me a very strong player overall.
The main difference between me and most gamers is that I enjoy very hard and challenging games. I very often start a new game I bought at the highest difficulty and start without even looking at the controls.

There's only 2 kind of difficulties I dont enjoy at all.

a) Hard because the controls are ****ing garbage like resident evil revelation. This makes me rage real hard, real quick
b) Try-an-error hard games like I wanna be the guy

This blog is gonna be about me playing new games I buy or playing older games with some sort of challenge to make it harder. I'm gonna talk about my experience, reviews it a bit, post screen shots of course and im probably gonna rage and whine a couple times too when I lose too often.

If you guys wanna suggest me some gaimz you are welcome. I like strategy, rpg and horror games mostly but im open. I'm a ''PC master race'' type guy although im probably gonna buy the playstation 4 somewhere in 2014. I also own a Ps2, a Wii and a 3DS.

So the first challenge I wanted to do for this blog is on Skyrim

What im gonna do is use the mod SKYRE. Basically its skyrim but better and also a lot harder. On top of that, im gonna play on legendary difficulty which means that im gonna get 1-3 shoted by pretty much everything.
I probably wont even be able to beat 1 wolf at level 10 without using magic or potions.

Other relevent mods I'll be using are :

- Better Vampire (the mod title is very self explanatory...). To be very brief, im going to have more vampiric power (nothing OP) and also the sun will kill me in seconds so im gonna have to be careful.
- Deadly dragons (harder dragons)
- Alternate start Which means im gonna start with a very basic kit and its gonna make me skip the boring intro.

Other rules are :

- Very limited teleport and waiting cuz teleports are for noobs
- >80% of the gameplay will be without companions
- No scumbag save/reloads

Perks spent :

Destruction Magic : 1
Block shield : 1
Light weapon : 2
Light armor : 1
Sneak : 1
Money : 2
Alchemy : 1

My character is mostly gonna be an hybrid glass canon mage/warrior/assasin.
Im mostly gonna use Axe as hand weapon because you can't take damage on legendary because dmg = death so you need to do A LOT of kiting and axe cause bleed which mean the enemy will still be dealt damage between the kites. Sword has better speed but it's not really helpful when you always need to move and Mace is just too slow.
Magic is gonna be mostly destruction type.

The start have been a real nightmare. I had Sanguinare Vampiris which is the sickness you get before being a vampire. So basically I had 25% less health which mean that nearly everything was 1 shoting me. I died like 30 times easily during those couple hours.

I wanted to go in the mine nearby and there was 3 wolves around, took me around 8 deaths to get passed them mostly abusing the terrain and using the illusion spell fear which make them run away for 15 seconds. Tried my best to isolate them so I could 1on1 3 times.

Then I got into the Embershard Mine. That image sum up really well my experience in the mine

Spoiler:

This image was taken after I very succesfully blocked with my shield one enemy power attack. Unfortunatly, even with the shield soaking up lot of the damage, the dmg was still too strong and I died (was full health) regardless

So after this awesome moment, I ****ing remove my uselss shield and went in with fire on one hand and iron axe on the other. I eventually passed the mine kiting like mad and abusing the terrain like crazy and after dying like 15 times. In the mine, I found a necklace that gives me +15% 1 handed dmg, no need to say I was really happy, probably the best item possible atm.

Anyway after I took a job, I had to slay a bandit leader dwelling at the valtheim tower. I was still stuck with the Sanguinare Vampiris sickness so I knew this wont be easy. I died like a million time every bandit was 1 shotting me as usual. I eventually defeated the bandit leader but I couldnt do it like that, he had TONZZZZ of hp and even his weakest attack was 1 shoting me so I lured him where there was animals and managed to get them to attack the bandit and while the bandit was defending himself, I mashed all dem attack buttons on him and eventually killed him GG nerd.

So I went back to loot the tower but there was 1 bandit left on the top of the tower. He had a powerful bow and 1 shot = 1 kill. I dodged all the arrows and finally when I came close, feared him between 2 arrow shot and threw him off the tower with my shield. He landed dead like this :

Spoiler:

#TrollPhysic

AND FINALLY now in turned into a vampire so now im finally gonna start the main quest and try to fight the op skeletons at Bleak Falls Barrow to get the dragon claw

Atm my character look like this :

Spoiler:

Kinda badass, would hit

Oh and from now on im actually gonna count the deaths-per-area so its gonna be real numbers not estimations.

Im gonna go and try Left 4 dead 2 now~

Played GTA, Hitman, silent hill 2-3 and thats it I think. Never been a big fan of crash overall and playing a cartoon dinosaur/crocos rly not my thing.

Only cartoonish thing I play is mario. I played most mario games

I'm continually frustrated with the modern dumbed-down difficulty of today's games. I have never really had a game that truly challenged me, especially RPGs. The only "challenging" part about some RPG's is figuring out where the hell to go next when there are scant clues, or pointless find quests. That's not fun. I want challenging gameplay with an engaging story.

I admire your skyrim attempt though I have no idea why you'd wanna do that to yourself. That doesn't sound fun at all. One of the more rewarding challenges I did was play through Ocarina of Time with a modified "uber" challenge: I used no shield, a broken giant's sword, 3 hearts, no jar usage, no item upgrades, no "power" items like din's fire unless story progress warrants it. Also, no deaths on the kill counter which means resetting a lot. I got to the final ganondorf fight and gave up because every time I died it would force me through that excruciatingly long cut scene, but I know given enough time I coulda finished it. That's one of the only games of any decent length I've beaten dozens of times in a variety of ways.

Ive heard this kind of talk a lot but Ive never understood with what they compared today's game difficulty. Most old games are easy imo... unless people are talking about games older than the SNES/Sega, in that case I dont know since I started with a SNES. I think we had more trouble beating a game before because we were like 8 years old and we sucked.

However it's true that games are made easy and when they're challenging, its usually challenging in a ******ed way (like just stats boots, thats it). Also, very often the highest difficulty of a game is the only one that require any kind of brain activity. Some games are pretty much just a movie

Well I had the pre-vampire sickness so I had a -25% health handicap. Now Im a vampire so im full health and vampire spells too so it probably wont be that bad now, I hope.

played ocarina a bunch too. same for majora mask and a link to the past. zelda has never been the same after those titles :/

you and i are of the same mind on Civilization.

Spoiler:

europa universalis iv is kind of similar, but it's a lot more in depth and more 'realistic' i guess is the word. what i loved so much about civ was building beautiful sandcastles and smoking meth and imagining i'm the ruler of some great nation and guiding it to greatness or failure.

i'm about 160 hours into eu4 and at this moment eu4 has not only replaced civ5 in my mind and in my heart, it's surpassed it. the thread in video games got me hyped up for it and it totally lived up to that hype for me. strong strong recommend.

On my way to Bleak Falls Barrow I was lucky enough to find a Silver Battle Axe. It's a 2 handed weapon and it give huge bonus dmg to undeads and Barrows tends to have lot of undeads in 'em. However wielding it means ive no shield so it's pretty dangerous to use.

It was pretty easy overall I had no trouble. I only died twice ; I got 1 shoted by a Draugr 2handed power attack and the other I died to a trap like a ****** while I was running away from 3 Draugr

So I quickly managed to get into the main room and learn my first Shout Word. Then the ''boss'' of the Barrow woke up. Big fat Draugr Lord with an Ice enchanted sword and a very standard shield. He has also a shout power that make me lose my weapon, it get thrown far from me

This is him

And this is a picture of his health bar after I spammed all my offensive magic on him until I was out of magika.

He was actually very slow and alone. So I was able to use my Silver Battle axe which gave him decent dmg and eventually took him down without dying once. #GetRekt

I looked at the time and it was 12h07 aka full sun. So I couldnt even go out otherwise I would get burnt to death (vampire). I had to cross all the way back at the start of the cave where I recalled seeing 2 bed left by some bandits. I went there, took a nap until the sun went down.

Next time im gonna fight my first dragon. Im probably gonna die 1 million time I think im gonna hire a mercenary to help. I don't like companions I think it's for noobs but mercenary it's different because I'm actually paying for the service. I'm off, gonna go play some poker

I like your skyrim run-through idea. I loved doing the khajiit cleric/monk/brawler (master/legendary) challenge. Only use your fists has weapons and restoration magic to heal yourself. Khajiit for the racial ability of unarmed attacks that do 15 points of damage and chose the Perk "Fists of Steel".

Im off to grab the reward for my finds. Then I got warned that a dragon was attacking the western watch tower. I wanted to go but unfortunatly, it was 2am so the sun will rise in 4 hours and I was concerned that I wouldnt have the time to kill the dragon before sunrise. Plus, the game warned me that I was starting to crave for blood so I decided to find a bitch to feed on. I always feed on bitches because feeding on men is kinda gay and i aint no gay.

So I went to a random house and found that annoying drunk girl sleeping. I was kinda happy to pick her as my victim as I hate her.

Dat bleed tho, she look kinda mad also

So after that I went and rent a room and next night 7pm, I was ready to fight the dragon. Bought some fire protection potions and crafted a lot of mana potions before going. I was pumped and ready and so were the 5 guards with me.
Took a couple time but finally got him without dying a single time. Actually he never targeted me he was always attacking the guard so I was just spamming my spark spell and drinking mana potions at the same time so I was basically shooting non-stop. I was also near a broken brick wall so if he ever decided to aim at me I would hide there. Cuz of course, vampire a 30% weaker to fire which means he 1 shots me.

So I took this ****** soul and got my first shout.
Me eating da soulz :

Dead dragon

Next time I might go and see the greybeards or i might do optionnal things I'll see.

I decided to continue into the main quest and climb the 7000 steps mountain and meet the greybeards. I wanted the 2 shouts they give as they are my favorite in the whole game.

I went off my room, sell and grab some item and was ready to go. However even before quitting the city, I met my first dawnguard vampire hunter. He had a big silver hammer. Normal hit were 2-3 shotting me and the power hit (I guess) is an insta death. So we fought around the city for a minute or 2. Of course the guard were watching the battle, eating pop corns. Eventually the hunter ended up on his knees and I finished him off by biting him then he fell a died.

After that I managed to get to the feet of the big mountain without any trouble. I knew this mountain would have bears, sabre cats, trolls and ice wraiths. The only creature I could MAYBE beat is the ice wraith. All the rest ive literally no chance of winning no matter what. You might tell me to just wait for a bigger level before going but the problem is this mountain scales very well with levels and it actually get worse (like more trolls, ice bears, etc). So I decided to just sneak my way up there and if I get spotted, I will just fear it and run while the fear is active.

I died twice in this mountain. First death was vs a sabre cat that spoted me. I feared him but the ******ed AI made him flee in my direction and when the fear was down, he started chasing me like mad. Since he runs faster than me I couldnt escape and a power attack 1 shoted me. Note that you cant fear the same target twice with Skyre mod.
2nd death was just me trying to dual an ice wraith. Didnt end well.

Finally I managed to go on to the top of the mountain. Here's a picture of the greybeard palace. It doesnt look very welcoming. It look like some old haunted palace.

Went there, learned my 2 shouts and left as soon as I could so I could have the time to climb off the mountain and get back into the inn before sunrise.

Troll physics 2, flying items:
