Hoped was that you were miserable because you are fighting the urge to lose this 3 k. An I know that it makes one miserable. Try next time to post here a lot before you gamble. It won't keep you from doing it, if you in your head already decided that you are going to do it,
but it can help, if you are on the edge. It keeps you at least as long as you are writing the posts from casino. Try to make longer posts with some soul searching. I know you have some of it in your GA group, but this blog leaves the impression, that you could profit from some more soul searching. Don't tell yourself that you won't gamble ever again, but tell yourself that you won't gamble some short period of time. In GA group they speak about a day, may be it is of some use for you to go for one hour.
Usually if you feel the pressure and can delay giving-in for few hours, pressure will decrease.
And I told it already, and I can only repeat it, invest some time in theory of gambling. You need to understand first rationally and then on a deep deep emotional level, that YOU WILL NEVER MAKE MONEY AT SLOTS OR VIDEO POKER. Because of you I read-up on slots. The usual return to player is between 95% and 98%. That means that with every spin you pay at least 2% of your bet to the casino. There is no way around it. Martingaling won't help. (read-up what martingales are!). Hitting the jackpot won't help. With every spin you pay at least 2 % of your bet.

With video poker you need a 3-4x royal bankroll in games you are playing at all time. In last 4 mos I have been playing 25 dollar games which requires 80k bankroll. Most of my bets have been at negative EV
I know the math ... I'm just compulsive and addicted

Try to build in some barriers before the next episode. I know that it is basically impossible to say "nope, I won't do dumb things now. I am going to read a book instead" . But what is possible is to let your brain still be busy with gambol, but delay it. I haven't read here a single post of you before the gambling episode. Something, where you try to fight this. Try it. I mean you have nothing to lose now. ( No, I mean you have something to lose.... still....) Try to write here down everything, that goes on in your head, BEFORE..... And repeat the math of all that as a mantra. Like I said, if you can delay it for few hours, pressure will decrease.

So I played a ton of free rolls and nano stakes at that point in time. And I kept my gambling addict in check by basically not having any money to do dumb things.
