This must be new, but it seems to be saying what I said above:

Understanding How Statuses Work:
WSOP.com’s Action Club and Total Rewards are different programs and have different thresholds for statuses. Online statuses are earned based on your monthly (or yearly) play on WSOP.com. To become Diamond status online, you need to earn at least 3,500 APPs within a calendar month. Once you do that, you’ll become Diamond status for the rest of that calendar month and the next month. You will then retain your online Diamond status on a month to month basis provided you continue to earn at least 3,500 APPs.
In order to qualify for Diamond status in Total Rewards, you need to earn 15,000 Tier Credits between January 1st 2015 and December 31st 2015. You could choose to earn all 15,000 Tier Credits on WSOP.com or combining your online and offline play. Each APP you earn online will also earn you 1 Total Rewards Tier Credit.
To become Seven Stars in Total Rewards, you need to earn 150,000 Tier Credits between January 1st 2015 and December 31st 2015. If you earn 120,000 APPs online and earn 30,000 Tier Credits offline then this will give you a total of 150,000 Total Rewards Tier Credits and you will becomes Seven Stars in Total Rewards. However, this will not make you a Seven Star on WSOP.com. For existing players to become Seven Stars on WSOP.com, you’ll need to earn 400,000 APPs exclusively on WSOP.com.
You can combine APPs and tier credits to earn statuses at brick and mortar casinos. But for status at the online site, you need to earn it all from only online.
I'm not sure how they are going to reconcile this with their policy of being able to match your Total Reward status for your online. I assume for that purpose they will disregard any tier credits that were earned through APPs.
They made it somewhat more complicated, then it had to be.
Of maybe they are getting rid of the match policy for this instead.
It also isn't all that big a deal I guess. What do Seven Star members get at the casinos that makes this matter that much? Ahhh .... Looking at the list, I guess complimentary room guaranteed with 48 hours notice is kinda cool; I usually figure I need to book 2 weeks or so ahead for that. $500 celebration dinner I guess ... though I never used my last $100 celebration dinner for being diamond and it expired. As far as I could tell it wasn't anything more than $100 in food comps and could not be used at certain restaurants. And I don't think I could eat $500 worth of the food at the eligible restaurants. I'd need to bring like 4 other people. If it counted for alcohol, maybe less (I don't know if it does).
Actually the "Annual retreat to any Total Rewards resort or casino" could be valuable I guess, depending on what that means. And the "Invitation to Signature Events" appears to be valuable if they are free, but they, of course, appear to be on weekdays from my quick look (looks to me like another instance of Caesars looking like they are offering me something nice, but we are both pretty sure I'll never be able to use it).
I've never felt like I actually get that much from the Total Rewards program. They send me offers (sometimes "offers") for a bunch of stuff, but I never actually get much.
