Set on flop and 3-to-Flush on river

No reads on villains

Full Tilt Poker $0.05/$0.10 Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Pre Flop: (1.4 SB) Hero is BB with 9 9
UTG raises, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, Hero calls

Flop: (8 SB) 6 9 2 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, CO calls, SB calls

Turn: (5.5 BB) 7 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB calls

River: (8.5 BB) K (3 players)
SB checks, Hero...?

I thought one of them is likely to have Flush draw completed on river, so my initial reaction would be to check, but what would you do here on river?

Thank you!

Re: Set on flop and 3-to-Flush on river

I'd bet based on the fact that I have a set. I like betting whilst holding a set. I've always found it to be a most profitable activity.

Seriously, I think you're hugely overestimating the likelihood of a flush. Opponents will get to showdown here with tons of hands that lose to 99. Micro-stakes villains, in particular, tend to play a wide range of holdings pre-flop and thus can have lots of one pair hands on the river. The way to exploit their looseness is to value-bet lightly. That doesn't involve checking the top of your range just because a draw got there.
