It sucks that 1/2 and 2/4 have gone up, i specifically made changes so that didn't happen. If i'd seen this table when i talked to steve post-meeting about additional cuts and we agreed to his proposed extra microstakes cuts, if i'd seen this i would have argued for directing more to 1/2 and 2/4

I understand exactly what you're saying Hood and I know you made every endeavour to address 1/2 and 2/4 fixed limit. Can you maybe find out why the differences are so big between your figures and Steves?.

Thanks

Time will tell whether it becomes a sweet spot or not; i do think the data looks different in BB/100 terms than in rake reduction terms. It looks like an unfair drop but in absolute terms ($ amount you pay in rake), also when you consider your edge is bigger and more hands are played at shorter tables, doesn't make it a better proposition. i'm certainly not switching to a FR grinder this year.
In your estimation what would the bb/100 in rake be at 5/10 full ring now? Thanks for the explantation about the conversations at IOM, it clears things up a bit.

i don't have that data any more and i wouldn't like to estimate. but take your 2011 BB/100 and multiply it by the % change to get an answer, assuming you play a standard distribution of # of players at table

That means that if you never play hu on the multiplayer tables the numbers will be worse than they look, given the higher reduction hu has recieved.

I think $2/4 was the sweet spot before, however, and probably even too low compared to other stakes. Especially 5/T which had become the biggest rake trap/glass ceiling that only a few could break through.

true although HU play on FR/6max tables below 15/30 represents a very small % of total hands so removing that realy won't effect things that much

pretty much this, yes. 3/6 and 5/10 were very high rake in absolute terms and made it pretty hard to move through the stakes and in to the low rake environment of 10/20+, i think if you looked at the absolute BB/100 terms of rake now things are much smoother and hopefully will encourage more fluidity between stakes

Just PokerStars.com and PokerStars.si websites, nothing more.
And this block is so stupid that all you need is to change DNS to google ones and that's it

aren't you worried that this is the foreshadow of something worse to come?

i went on the 2+2 pokercast today and talked about the IOM meetings, didn't really cover much new ground, just an overview of the meetings and the community response, but for those interested the segment starts around the 1:20 mark iirc

lol @ "very low raked"

I believe you meant to say "slightly lower than" though...

Funny how 1/2 also got an increase too. Those stakes got it both sides: rake increase and cut on rewards overall. Oh well!
