he is dead money 6max or fullring imo, but from what i can tell so far he is somewhat decent hu or 3handed ... basically bad/spewy/unpredictable which can start to work to one's advantage super short handed

Trypta, Babybudda is a monster fish hu or 3 handed. You might get the mistaken impression, because you dont see alot of good regs sitting to play him. That is because he refuses them action. He is also a notorious hit n runner. I will generally play him hu at any limit he is willing to play and for some reason he gives myself, Efficacy, vmacosta and selected others action when he is not busto. He is hilarious, when he decides to chat, which will basically give away that he is a huge fish if you cant tell by playing a few huhu hands with him. See the Sept. huhu lc thread for some funny buddaisms.

ok guess i had the wrong idea, but i've never played him hu, so i was just guessing... i suppose ill refrain from guessing that someone isnt horrible hu when its abundantly clear he is horrible in the 6max hands i have against him hehe

damn, good to know, I was under the impression that he was good by the fact that he will sit on 6 30/60 to 50/100 tables and seemingly seek out action. But I always suspected he might be a fishy. This is cool cause it won't be hard to get action from him sense he thinks I'm scared to play him.

Yeah I probably shouldntve said anything, because the more good players he plays, the quicker he will bust, but I rarely play his hours anyway.

Hehe, if i was paranoid i would think this was one mother of a level. But instead if i ever feel an urge to take a drunken stab at some really highstakes i now know who to play

Hi all. I'm Cap_'n_Muck. Also played as seasonedho earlier this year before Stars made me change my name (is that really that offensive???). Mostly 3-6 but I take shots upwards (mostly unsuccessfully!). Just started playing more after not playing much over the summer. I usually 6 table 3-6 and I'm thinking about making a dbeckham7467 like run at SNE next year with some serious multi-tabling of 3-6 with 2-4 and 5-10 thrown into the mix. His and my stats are remarkably similar (25/19/2.3), except I defend bb alot more than he does and steal a bit more too.

Any thoughts on my play? Crucify me I can take it!!! (I will say this as a caveat: everytime I have played against someone I know is 2+2 I usually try something stupid that backfires miserably!)

I recognized your name right away, it's been ages since I've posted here and I thought I had more hands against you but only a couple hundred and you seem to have been nitty yet tilt me whenever I'm against you. Btw my screenname is poolshark for you and everyone else to make fun of.

I remember playing against seasonedho. Your screen name actually made me laugh out loud and call your name out to my girlfriend. My impression was that you were too nitty, and I was playing pretty tight back then.

It's kind of unfair that Stars 'let' you change your screenname just because it's offensive. I've thought of 'renouncing buddhism' to get stars to let me change mine. It's GiantBuddha on like five different sites. Maybe I'll just stop posting or create a gimmick account.

Yes Poolshark......I'll have to look for some examples in PT but I am sure I've tilted against you a time or two!!! You drove me crazy the month or so I played 2-4. You always seemed to play back at me when I whiffed the flop, and you always seemed to show up with the goods if I tried to play back at you. You sir are one tough hombre!!! And I love your avatar!

When you guys say nitty, how negative is that connotation? I pretty much follow Stox guide pre......are those ranges really that exploitable? Isn't "nitty" the best way to play the 3-6 and lower, especially if multi-tabling and trying to rack up FPP's? I'm not saying it's 100% optimal but can the game be beat in the long run playing 25/19(I only have 100k hands in my database but I'm at 1.16bb/100 so far).
10-09-2008 , 12:50 PM
Yeah, you were running more like 21/14 over a couple hundred hands w/32% WTSD. As Cap n' Muck I have you at 24/17 over 90 hands w/36% WTSD. Obviously sample size is an issue, but it looks like you've loosened up some in spots.

I don't think it's horrible to be nitty. I beat $3/6 on Stars pretty solidly playing 23/16 to 24/17. But a 32 WTSD is almost certainly bad. I play a lot looser now, but under some game conditions I think it's fine to lock it down. The 1/3 structure encourages tighter play, but since a lot of people play tighter in the blinds, it's still good to steal pretty aggressively.
10-10-2008 , 04:00 AM
My WTSD over 100k is 38.85, and about 15-20k ago it was 38 exactly so I'm probably showing down around 42 now. But whenever I have a losing session and my WTSD is 46, I always seem to berate myself for light calldowns, especially when the draw that I put my opponent on to justify my A high turn call gets there and I pay off anyway. I agree 32 would be way to tight.

I feel like I don't think about the game quite as deeply as many here, but maybe I'm being too hard on myself. When playing 6 tables a lot of stuff ends up feeling pretty robotic, and I probably make fewer adjustments than I should against certain styles. But if my math is right, the rewards of SNE add up to like 90k/yr if your using all your FPP's for $$$ bonuses, so if a playing style of 25/19/2 with an ATS and a WTSD that hover around 40 can make as little as 0-.5bb/100, then it seems like I should be grinding a lot more hours next year to try and achieve that (I figure it would take close to 45hr per week). My expectation would have to approach -.25bb/100 before I think I would start to feel that the effort wasn't worth it.

Does anyone know any other players on stars other than dbeckham7467 who have made SNE exclusively by grinding 3-6 or lower?
10-10-2008 , 08:34 AM
marchinvest2 started at 3-6 if I remember correctly. since he is a winning player he moved up.
dbeckham however managed to spew of big time and made SNE by playing 3-6 (in my books he is loosing at 1 BB/100 hands over a VERY HUGE sample size)

better think twice before going for the dbackham in 2009
10-10-2008 , 09:09 AM
wow, how huge a sample are u talking?
like enough to make sne ? because that'd be pretty funny, he'd be up just about 20-30k overall thanks to rakeback, what would be pretty LOL considering the amount of time he spends losing money on the tables ("grinding")
10-10-2008 , 11:24 AM
Maybe Dbeckham will show up to post a graph. I would love to see it.
