Re: ***Official Stars Regs Thread***

i think a change to the LHE tourney schedule should be discussed. the tourney lobby is such a sad place for limit holdem that even if we completly butcher it, it wont really matter.

some ideas...

1. dump the $10 hypers. these turn into an AI preflop real quick, and there is already plenty of games dedicated to that. let us play the game the way it is meant to be played.

it is also kind of strange that there is 6 of these over 6 hours once a day, rather than being spread out. replace the hypers with $11 6max spread across the day, with varying guarantees similar to the prize pools currently GTD.

2. more 6max. FR cash is dead, so it makes no sense for the majority of MTTs to be FR. the $5.50 6max $500GTD with 15min levels is good. beyond that there is an $11 and a $33 with no guarentees. dump one or both, and introduce a daily 6max $33 GTD or similar.

3. add a weekly $55 or $75 2k GTD next to the weekly $215. and perhaps change the the 215 to a 320 or a 530.

4. that little yellow banner at the top of the lobby should be utilized in the LHE lobby to show when a LHE MTT is starting soon. i recently reinstalled the PS software, and the default MTT anouncments are spammy, with the only option to disable entirely. there should be a way to make announcements that people acually want to recieve. i personally couldnt care less that a 215 plo is about to begin.

5. as far as i can see there is no huhu MTTs ever. not even during WCOOP where you proudly announce that every game is offered. huhu is unique card game in its own right and should be in WCOOP.

there should be a weekly huhu. $75 1k GTD or similar. 2/4-5-10 regs should be able to prop a game like this.

6. start with low rake for the first couple of weeks to get the regs propping the GTDs, then return the rake back to normal levels once the schedule becomes stable. no-one will mind, we swear.

so instead of the schedule looking like this...

daily
6x $10 hypers with 500-1k GTDs clustered
1x $5 6max $500 GTD
1x $11 6max
1x $33 6max

weekly
1 x $215 5k GTD FR

it could be

6 x $11 6max 15min levels 500-1k GTDs
1 x $5 6max 15min levels $500 GTD
1 x $33 6max 15min levers 1k GTD

weekly
1 x $55 6max 15min levels 2k GTD
1 x $320 6max 15min levels 5k GTD
1 x $75 huhu 15min levels 1k GTD

im not saying that im sure what the schedule should be, but that there needs ot be a major overhaul. the games offered just arent fun.

+1 that FR LHE sucks--I don't know who plays it anymore. I haven't opened one of these tables in 4 years.

+1. I played one of these because I wanted some variation from my normal cash game. Even before I got knocked out, I'd decided to never play one again. It's a total lottery. I would like to play more tourneys just for a change of pace but have no interest in NL. Replacing these HTTs with standard format tourneys (or maybe even Turbo, idk) would be great.

More GTD 6-Max tourneys sounds fun.

Re: ***Official Stars Regs Thread***

Serious question...now that PTR is down how are cheaters on Stars caught? There are a few ppl that seem to own my soul and are always making the right plays with hands that seem unusual for them or it works out for them (over largish samples). In the past if I checked PTR and saw that they were were overall losers I would know they were getting lucky against me. However if they were winning at an unusual clip (for their playing style) I could examine further and try and figure out what was going on...and report to stars.

I know ppl say stars can detect cheating, but they missed those SNEs colluding at FR limit as well as many others, and based on Star's decline in other areas (ie roundtable for limit and then coming up with that thread about stopping shortstacking and ratholing in limit and then completely dropping out of the discussion)....
Suggestions?

I have the same concerns. I don't trust stars one bit to catch collusion or any other type of cheating. And at the same time, downloading hands is against their ToC, so there's no way to get public accountability for the games.
